South Oak Cliff offensive lineman Brian Swanson was a priority recruit for the Longhorns from day one. It was a huge win for Texas. The Longhorns are in that phase of recruiting right now. They’re battling for the big dogs. And the big dogs are starting to come off the board. Four of the last five commitments rank among the top five of Texas’ 15 commitments for the class of 2027. BOOM! Texas has landed another commitment, this time from Dallas South Oak Cliff offensive tackle Brian Swanson. At 6-foot-5.5, 305 pounds, Swanson chose the Longhorns over Oklahoma and SMU amongst three dozen other offers. The State Champion offensive tackle gave the good news to the Texas staff on his official visit before going public with the decision on Wednesday. Texas football recruiting marches to its own pace. Every time you think there might be a run of commitments, the call for “patience” almost immediately re-introduces itself. Sark doesn’t mind that. Texas Tech LHP Samantha Lincoln has committed to Texas, according to her social media pages. The rising junior from Taunton, Mass. appeared in 25 games, with 12 starts in 2026. She registered a 3.47 era and an undefeated 7-0 record. For the year, Lincoln struck out 67 batters. She threw 3.1 innings against Texas in Game 1 of the WCWS Finals, allowing 2 earned runs and striking out one Longhorn. Adrian Rodriguez, a sophomore from Flower Mound, hit for the cycle in a 14-2 win over Alabama in Omaha. Rodriguez finished the game 5-5 with seven RBIs and 12 total bases. After winning back to back National Championships, Mike White and Texas Softball might have just landed their biggest transfer out of the NCAA Portal. Former Florida State SS Isa Torres has committed to Texas, she announced on her instagram on Tuesday. "Howdy, I'm coming home." Torres posted. Torres had an astonishing .530 batting average in 2026, good for the 3rd highest mark of any player in the entire country. She hit 16 home runs and drove in 54 runs. Adding another weekend OV Shadow Creek (Texas) High's Brandon Sherrard has been a possibility to make an OV to Texas June 19-21. Four-star cornerback Montre Jackson wrapped up an official visit to Texas over the weekend, a return trip to the Forty Acres for the Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial product. He's named Texas his leader throughout the spring. He maintains the Longhorns are still on top after the weekend. He gave OTF a brief synopsis on the visit. "It went great overall," Jackson told OTF. NOLA Brother Martin WR Easton Royal — Texas commit — Make no mistake, the most important recruit on campus this weekend is Easton Royal. The 5-star wide receiver committed to Texas over Florida and LSU November 29. The day before Jon Sumrall was hired by Florida and Lane Kiffin was hired by LSU. First, and most importantly, I am told that Texas second baseman Ethan Mendoza is okay. He left yesterday’s game due to shoulder pain (the same shoulder that he hurt against Tennessee). Mendoza took part in batting practice this morning. — Speaking of Mendoza, just a week ago I thought he would for sure leave to the MLB Draft.
