Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central DL Tyler Alexander has committed to Texas, he announced on Tuesday morning. Alexander chose the Longhorns over Georgia, Notre Dame, and Colorado. BOOM! Texas has landed another commitment, this time from Amarillo Palo Duro wide receiver Kyron Brown. At 6-foot, 185 pounds, Brown chose the Longhorns over Kansas State, Northwestern, and Baylor amongst nearly two dozen other offers. Brown joined NOLA Brother Martin’s Easton Royal and North Forney’s Briceson Thrower as the third wide receiver in the Longhorns’ 2027 class. This recruitment was eerily similar to Kohen Brown’s recruitment in that things came together quite quickly as Brown picked up his offer after camping at Texas on June 3rd and is now committed less than three weeks later. We’re now 48 hours removed from the recruiting weekend. That’s typically when the dust settles and we see whether or not the Longhorns actually moved the needle with key recruits. Yesterday the news broke that Texas Baseball Associate Head Coach Nolan Cain would be leaving for Texas A&M, where he is expected to take the same role. So why did it happen? I have confirmed that pitcher Sophia Bordi is no longer on the team. Bordi, who transferred to Texas from Oklahoma, was ranked as the nation's No. 1 pitcher in the 2026 recruiting class. The former Gatorade New Jersey Player of the Year never pitched for the Longhorns, as she was ineligible for the 2026 season due to transfer rules.
