The Longhorns are fully under way in the winter conditioning period. I wanted to share some tidbits that came across my line on this beautiful Friday morning. *** We have mentioned it briefly on Coffee & Football, but there is a concerted effort being made by Quinn Ewers to take this team under his wing. Essentially establishing it as his team so far during winter conditioning. I have heard a pair of positives in regards to early enrollee wide receivers: First, Ryan Wingo is looking the part physically. That was a given coming in, but early on in conditioning he has been holding his own in what has become a crowded WR room. His quickness is re…

With Jabbar Muhammad opting for Oregon, Michigan players staying put (for now), it’s time to look a little deeper at recruiting for the Horns in 2025. I start with CB recruiting given the news yesterday of Jaboree Antoine heading to LSU. View full news

Texas assistant special teams coach Joe DeCamillis is moving on. The long-time NFL assistant who served a support role for the Longhorns last year, DeCamillis accepted a full-time staff role at South Carolina, according to published reports. DeCamillis helped special teams coordinator Jeff Banks architect one of the best special teams units the Longhorns have produced in decades. View full news

Last night the Michigan 24/7they noted that if Moore is hired it shouldn't open any floodgates like you saw at Alabama, but in the same breath noted that Michigan's biggest problem now is to heading off the "tampering/poaching/inducing ... going on right now." It doesn't sounds like the UM collective is very large, and although they saved some money when JJ did not return, they may not have enough to keep everyone happy. I hope Texas is one of the teams putting the pressure on (legally)..., Now is the time to donate to the Texas One Fund to help finalize Texas' roster next season.

2026 Fort Bend Marshall DB Isaiah Williams was on campus last weekend for the Texas Junior Day. This should be a name to become familiar with for the 2026 cycle. Williams was offered by the Longhorn staff during his freshman year of high school and clearly have remained interested since. Texas has done a great job of getting involved here early. In the last week, Williams has earned offers from Cal, Colorado, Houston, Ohio State, Florida and Arizona State. A pretty significant run. The 6-foot safety was able to spend time with new Alabama WR transfer addition Isaiah Bond on the trip as well. Texas is going to be a frequent visitor to Fort Bend Marshall…

A little second half action is right around the corner. Texas put together a strong run towards the end of the first half, but lots of work to go in Provo.

Cash those tickets! 2026 Aledo RB Raycine Guillory Jr. has committed to Texas following his time on campus for the Junior Day Saturday afternoon. Guillory was a key piece of the Aledo offense in 2023 that ended up winning the state title. The sophomore running back rushed for 1200+ yards on an 8.5 yards per carry clip and found the end zone 17 times. Another feather in the cap of RB Coach Tashard Choice who lands a tremendous prospect from a very impressive program out of DFW. Guillory was clocked at 10.8 in the 100m as a sophomore and has a reported 4.43 laser time in the 40-yard dash as well. Guillory becomes the first commitment in the 2026 cla…

Two Longhorns earned NIL deals this afternoon with a local Volkswagen dealership in the Austin area. Early Enrollee Colin Simmons and Houston WR transfer Matthew Golden have some new wheels to ride around in thanks to a partnership with Vanguard Volkswagen. And highly touted true freshman Colin Simmons will be rolling around campus with a nice ride of his own.
