On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Longhorns are two wins away from the school’s NCAA-record 39th berth in the College World Series. The Oregon Ducks are the last hurdle between Jim Schossnagle’s team and a trip to Omaha, with the two clubs slated to begin the Austin Super Regional at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Saturday (7 p.m., ESPN). Ahead of the first game of the best two-out-of-three series between Texas (43-13) and Oregon (43-16), both teams will practice on the Forty Acres and meet with the media on Friday. Schlossnagle will be joined at the press conference by left-handed starting pitcher Dylan Volantis and outfielder Anthony Pack Jr. On Texas Football is reporting …

  2. Tldr: I live in KC. We drive by a big convention center last night where I see 2 ugly ass busses. Me: "Oh, those Oklahoma buses are here for the baseball games." (Lawrence is only 30 or so minutes away) Wife: "what did you say about homeless busses?" A perfectly misheard sentence.

  3. It's always special to see the Longhorns, who are from the area, come back and give back to the community:

  9. I saw this and thought it was as to good not to share.

  10. Watching aggys strategy this year on OL is fascinating. They have the no 1 OT Matthew’s committed. Kennedy brown is also 5 star level. Plus they have Kaeden Scott and DeMarrion Johnson making a total of 4 top 100 recruits regardless of position. Look like they probably won’t get Camara but working hard to also pull in Simeon another borderline 5 star. How much nil can you sink into a position that probably won’t yield a bunch of early starters? Are they going for the best OL recruiting class of all time banner to pair with their 2022 best class of all time one?

  11. Texas avoided an if-necessary third game of the Women’s College World Series finals against Texas Tech, following up Wednesday’s 7-3 win over the Red Raiders with Thursday’s 4-1 victory to clinch the Longhorns’ second consecutive national championship. Texas (53-12) joined Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma and UCLA as the fifth NCAA softball program to win back-to-back softball national titles with a two-game sweep of Texas Tech (61-10). Teagan Kavan, who was named WCWS Most Outstanding Player for the second year in a row, secured the final six outs of the game after Citlaly Gutierrez (4.1 innings) and Hannah Wells (0.2 innings) did their jobs in the circle to help the Long…

  12. Heard on the broadcast last night that Mike White coached teams are now 14-4 against Jerry Glasco coached teams. Not gloating but just an interesting stat.

  13. So, Texas wins the title, I am excited. My first thought wasn't "Let's watch the celebration." It was, "Where's the Texas Tech press conference?" Obviously, this may be the sports version of schadenfreude. I'm not talking about enjoying personal pain or attacking players. That's different. Not hatred. Not wishing bad things on anyone. Just a morbid curiosity to see what the losing side has to say when the season ends one game short. There's a raw honesty that comes out when people are dealing with disappointment. Sometimes you learn more about the game from the team that lost than from the team that won. You hear the respect they have for their opponent. You hear the regr…

  14. 2028 QB from Tennessee Younger brother of Ty Simpson He worked out for the staff this week. Still think Neimann Lawrence is trending Texas' way but another QB of note nonetheless.

  15. The Kalshi odds on Brendan Sorsby declaring for the 2026 NFL Supplemental Draft have taken a wicked turn following the hearings this morning. At 10:00 am this morning, the odds sat north of 83% to enter the Supplemental Draft. As of posting (1:15 pm), those odds sit at 13%.

  19. Even on the morning of its softball team playing for a national championship, Texas Tech leadership proves once again why it's the laughingstock of college sports. According to a source-and in direct contradiction to a statement made last week by Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire- the Red Raiders never received agreement from Texas State head coach GJ Kinne to cancel their game with Texas, nor did McGuire, athletic director Kirby Hocutt, or Tech chairman Cody Campbell receive it from any other athletic official at Texas State. "All it was, was a PR stunt, clear as day," a source told On Texas Football. During the Big 12 spring meetings last week, McGuire specif…

  20. Last thing for me on Texas Tech WWE drama. The flex wouldn’t be scheduling Texas week 1, and adding to the longhorns possibly playing the toughest schedule in the nation. The flex would be buying out Oregon State, paying Texas to take on Oregon State week 2, and talking The Ohio State University to go play in Lubbock. Hell if you feeling yourself a little, go up to Columbus and play them there. That would do more about Sark’s comment about your schedule. He didn’t say anything about your team. Just my .02.

  21. Don’t know if there’s a Golf thread for Texas already in here somewhere but just wanted to point out how impressive the Men were today. women are already through to the NCAA championships that start this weekend. The Men today went absolutely bezerk. Thru the 3 rounds they completed in College Station Regional they’re -45 as a final score. They set a Texas program record in the second round with a score this morning of -23. They finished five shots ahead of Texas A&M who was hosting the regional and are onto the NCAA championship stroke play. The Individual scores were: Morrison (-10) Potter (-17) *1st place* Maas (-10) …
