A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. https://www.si.com/college-football/sec-leaders-blast-cfp-metrics-explanation-as-debate-over-strength-of-schedule-intensifies Sounds like things under the hood in the selection process are even worse than what has been explained on the selection shows

  2. I don’t post here a lot. But I want to say a huge thank you to Bobby, Gerry, and Blake for what they provide us every morning with Coffee and Football. This morning I took an early flight to Houston for work. As I was driving around Houston in the rain I put on Coffee and Football. We had Brad Shearer on followed by Tony. Man… I was in heaven. Where else can you get one of the all time greats talk about practicing with a dislocated elbow thanks to Earl. Then Tony Hills comes over the top with his typical Wednesday passion. Seriously, where else could we get this content? I actually thought Gerry was just like… let Brad Shearer go… cause he’s killing it. Anyway, …

  3. Arkansas doesn't seem to be in a position to make demands. Regardless, Hunter Yurachek calling out ESPN is certainly a move. A fair number of folks, from fans to media members, are happily dunking on Yurachek over on the Twitter machine.

  5. I am fully on board if SEC and B1G football exits the NCAA. I want premium games. Play 10 conference games and 2 games from other conference (SEC or B1G). At end of season, have top 6 teams from each conference in playoff tourney. Top 2 SEC get bye, Top 2 from B1G get bye. SEC#3 plays B1G #6, SEC#4 vs B1G#5, etc. We don't stinkin' need ACC or MMA (sorry, B12) conference participation. ACC and B12 can do their own thing.

  6. The CBS Sports staff has Sark at No. 6, one spot behind Dan Lanning and one spot ahead of Mario Cristobal. Too high? Too low? Fair?

Last night's weather was remarkable in that some areas got just a bit of moisture while others had significant flooding and wind. I haven't heard of any hail damage or tornado events yet. Choke Canyon area and Corpus Christi appear to be getting some this morning. Chime in on this thread with weather reports. 🤘

It's not horrible and does finally give guidelines and guardrails from the wild wild west we have now.

Did you see this interview from Vic? He said two of the transfers were shopping around for awhile and the other one didn’t have any options…….basically because she didn’t have a place coming back. Must have been Carlton i guess because she and her mother have sent said some derogatory things about Texas since she left.

Hell, I didn’t know y'all had put the dream team together over here. Bobby Jeff Gerry Cj Blake What an all-star team. Adding Hank and Jordan was icing on the cake. Man, I grew up with y'all and the other site, and hate to see them getting dominated like they are, but that's business. Y'all boys are not playing and it's showing. A lot of good articles to read. Glad to be here. Hook Em!!

  13. Other than the selection committee resisting the urge to pair Texas and Texas A&M together for a potential Austin Super Regional, there were no surprises when the field for the NCAA Tournament was unveiled on Monday. For the second year in a row, Jim Schlossnagle’s club earned a top-8 national seed. The committee awarded the Longhorns the No. 6 overall seed, pairing Texas (40-13, 19-10 SEC) with the Eugene Regional (hosted by No. 11 overall seed Oregon) for the Super Regional. One of the eight roads to Omaha and the College World Series will go through Austin, the first time that’s been the case in consecutive years since Augie Garrido led the program to top…

  20. Remember when I said the House Settlement didn’t address the real issues? All it did was a) kick the can down the road, and b) give the NCAA safe harbor from further suits. Well, it sounds like there’s some folks finally coming up with similar thoughts one year in. ”The House Settlement has been nothing short of a disaster.”

  21. Texas associate head coach/recruiting coordinator Nolan Cain interviewed for the vacant head coaching job at the University of Houston, On Texas Football has learned. Both parties decided to go in different directions; Cain was one of 10-plus targets on the Cougars’ radar to replace long-time head coach Todd Whitting, who parted ways with the school after 16 seasons. OTF has also learned that other schools are interested in Cain as a head coaching candidate. Houston isn’t expected to be the last program to try and poach Cain from Jim Schlossnagle’s staff, a group of coaches currently preparing for Friday’s SEC Tournament quarterfinal against a to-be-determined oppone…
