CJ and I caught a workout today at Westlake that featured a number of college athletes from across the country. We were there for Colin Simmons and Lance Jackson, but bumped into Bo Barnes. He's doing well at UK. Says CJ Baxter is fully healthy too. Awesome kid. Wish him well.

For the last week of the regular season, Texas catcher Carson Tinney and LHP Dylan Volantis were named SEC player and pitcher of the week, respectively. Tinney's three home runs in a three-game sweep of Missouri put him in the team lead with 20. After seven strong innings on Thursday, Volantis ended the regular season with an 8-1 record and a 2.05 ERA. In SEC play, Volantis went 6-1 with a 2.38 ERA, 76 strikeouts and a .197 opponent batting average in 51.1 innings.

Here's the release from UT: Texas Longhorns Sam Cozart, Anthony Pack Jr. and Dylan Volantis earned invitations to participate in the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp this summer. The prestigious camp features 56 of the premier non-draft eligible college players, participating in three days of exhibition contests against teams from the Appalachian League followed by a five-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series. Per D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers, this years upcoming SEC tournament will have ABS (automated ball-strike) challenges. The NCAA approved this earlier today. The SEC proposed this earlier in the year. - 3 ABS challenges (if you win the challenge, you retain) - You get a bonus challenge in extra innings if you don't have any left - ONLY a pitcher, catcher, hitter can request ABS challenge (within 2-3 seconds). Untimely challenges will NOT be granted.

Jeff disclosed this researched stat recently on "Who is the best Edge video?" Dylan Stewart has had 10 coverage snaps in 2 yrs and Collin has had 140 coverage snaps. This a wild revelation IMO. A generational talent for Texas is covering the flat or outside zone? How many times did they throw the ball his way? Don’t know if it’s been reported on here but Field of 68s Rocco Miller reported the other day that Texas MBB Non Con schedule is almost Complete. I really like that they’re playing Memphis and in the San Diego Multi-Team Event that includes UCLA, St.Marys and G-Town. Don’t love the amount of fluff in this schedule. Would’ve rather them play more Q1 games early in the season than play this amount of gimmes. Also curious to see who they get for the ACC/SEC challenge game, heard it could be UNC on the road.
