Bastrop is only about 30 minutes away from Austin so it was no surprise to see some Texas representation yesterday in attendance for a practice session. the portal. I was told on Tuesday that Jordan had decided to stay at Texas. Obviously, that decision flipped from what I was told yesterday. Jordan is a class of 2022 signee and was currently running 3rd team at the star position. Even though he was 3rd team, Jordan was considered a valuable member of the Texas secondary. Jordan is the second member of the secondary to declare an intent to transfer in as many days. Returning starting cornerback Terrance Brooks announced a similar decision on Tuesday. It looks like a key to our success on defense this season will be the pass rush. Not to knock our returning starters at Edge, but we've seen Sorrell and Burke for a lot of snaps. They struggled to get sacks last year, even with two All-American level players at DT. Can they improve some from last year? Sure. But I'm not expecting major leaps from them. Based on the spring game and practice reports, our most effective pass rush looks to come from Trey Moore, Colin Simmons, and Colton Vasek. Yes he throws 102 and I know yall are thinking “he will never step foot on campus”. I’d say there’s a 95% chance he IS on campus next season. This is a take on potential. However, he hardly has pitched for his JUCO and, as of two weeks ago, has thrown 18.1 innings. During that time he has 16 walks and 9 HBP. Leblanc is brand new to pitching. okie state beat OU again so they have fallen below us in the standings. Texas has 10-run ruled tech two games in a row (23-0 yesterday!). we stand at 22-4 in the big12. both okie state and OU are 21-5. we are one game ahead of both of them. if we win again today to close out the series with a sweep, we will be outright winners of our last big 12 regular season championship!
