On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. With the series sweep over the Ags. We actually clinched Saturday but the sweep makes it that much sweeter.

  2. Specific to the Longhorns and rounds 1-3, the NFL teams certainly rewarded several players who came back to finish eligibility--Baron, Broughton, Collins, Mukuba. Leaving early--worked out for Banks and Golden Not working out for a high pick--Ewers, Blue, Williams, Bond (other issues). Probably Williams ends up being the biggest mistake and wondering if this affects future year decisions. Completed eligibility and did their best--Helm, Sorrell, Majors, Conner, Gbenda, Bolden, Holmes, Norton. Hoping for a good Saturday for the group. Plenty of time for this group to do well in the league despite draft status.

  3. The brooms are out with the Longhorns looking to sweep the series from the Aggies. It's a 3 p.m. start on ESPN 2.

  5. Matthew Golden posted a vlog of his draft experience!! (Sorry if someone already shared, I didn’t see it on any threads) Around 10 mins in it shows his cell phone not working when Packers tried to call him 😂 you could see his anxiety and relief when they finally just called the landline! Cannot wait to watch him COOK in Green Bay! @CJ Vogel @Bobby Burton @Jeff Howe @Gerry Hamilton

  14. There won't be a hotter ticket in Austin, Texas, this weekend than that of the series occurring at Disch-Falk Field. Jim Schlossnagle and the No. 1 ranked Texas Longhorns are set to host Texas A&M for a three-game set this weekend, first pitch at 7 p.m. on SEC Network. Live thread for game one of the series.

Everyone loves mock drafts. But every year there is a (usually 1st round) pick that stuns the experts and throws multiple team boards into disarray. Then becomes the headline of next day draft grades. I can never predict the first major “reach.” Thoughts ?

  16. Josh pate does a great job of highlighting Sarks redemption run

  17. Who’s your team and who do you want tonight? I assume most here are Cowboys/Texans fans. I’m a Broncos fan. Long thought it would be a RB tonight. I read several mocks today that had us taking Egbuka from tOSU and one had us taking Golden. What say you about your team?

  18. Texas hosted 2027 Pflugerville Weiss WR Tre Moore for the second time in as many weeks this morning. Moore, a 6-foot-3-inch wide out, is the son of former Oklahoma quarterback Eric Moore. The Austin-area playmaker now boasts 22 offers and has steadily been climbing the recruiting rankings since the release of the 2027 class. I would keep close tabs on this one. Moore is a freaky athlete.

  19. I’m no expert, but I’ve watched enough to know Jahdae Barron is the real deal. He plays with control, intelligence, and edge—he doesn’t just fly around hoping to make a play, he knows where the ball’s going. Put that next to Pat Surtain II, who already plays like a seasoned vet with the calm confidence of a shutdown guy, and you’ve got something serious forming in Denver. What makes both of them special isn’t just their physical talent—it’s their awareness and their psyche. They diagnose plays quickly, rarely get caught out of position, and they don’t panic. They trust their technique. Their football IQ is high, but so is their discipline. No wasted steps. No …

  22. We just wrapped up Jim Schlossngale's media availability ahead of tomorrow's opening game of a three-game home series between No. 1 Texas and Texas A&M. Here are a few key things to file away: — Jared Spencer is returning from Houston after undergoing further evaluation for the arm injury he suffered in last Thursday's win over Auburn. Spencer will speak with his family before he decides what to do next, which includes surgery. As Blake Munroe reported this morning, Ruger Riojas will start the Friday game against the Aggies, followed by Luke Harrison on Saturday. (Update: Late Thursday afternoon, the program confirmed that Spencer has a shoulder injury that will …
