On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. Kind of a goofy interview, but nice to get a little insight from the guys and get some idea of Lance and Justus' personality.

  2. Blake reported this a while back and we’ve been mentioning it when talking about the Texas pitching staff in 2026, but it’s official (per Kendall Rogers) that the Longhorns are welcoming back Max Grubbs, Luke Harrison and Ruger Riojas for the 2026 season. The plan is for Harrison to be back in the Saturday role next season. *** UPDATE: The return of Grubbs, Harrison and Riojas is officially official

  3. What does it mean for recruiting going forward?

  4. On Texas Football Forum · Started by CJ Vogel,

In regards to the class rankings and recruiting at this point in the summer.

  7. @Bobby Burton @Gerry Hamilton @CJ Vogel @Jeff Howe I have been here a short time but, have been over at Horns247 for 10+ years. I enjoy you guys content and podcasts that you guys produce. I love how real you guys keep it with us and that really seems to be a rarity not only that you guys keep us informed and I can appreciate that as well. Reason why I came here to check it out is for the inside connections that you guys seem to have as well. So, with that said Kudos to you guys and hopefully success for many years to come.

  8. I think that’s Niblett, but whoever it is has a great backpack

  9. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/45703663/deion-sanders-says-college-football-needs-salary-cap It seems he's saying there should be a positional cap and suggests that is how it is in the NFL? I'm not a big NFL guy so I may be off here, but I don't think there is a positional salary cap in the NFL, right? Just one total salary cap per team and positional value is determined (and frequently reset) by the market?

  11. We'll be discussing this on the show this morning, but wanted to post here as well. Phil Steele is high on the Horns, as Texas ranks in the top ten of nearly every position group ranking.

  12. For those perplexed by the current NIL structure and how different schools are operating, the article I have linked below does a good job of laying out some of the terms. https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/we-dont-know-the-rules--big-12-coaches-still-wrestling-with-new-world-order-after-player-payment-changes-013454522.html

  13. Saw on Texas Twitter, Nahlin is saying some recruit we “missed” on likely ruined his career. I am guessing off the field stuff? Sucks for all parties involved if that is the case.

  15. @Gerry Hamilton @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel I think some of the nervous nellies out here (at times, me included) are worried that the "don't worry just look at the last few years...believe in Sark" panacea might not be the case this year. As you clearly stated, this year is different. There is a House Settlement to contend with. There are rules in place we've never had before. So, the "business as usual" response to this recruiting cycle, to me, is overly optimistic. As I've stated elsewhere, the math doesn't add up for us. The 2026 roster will have at least 17 super blue chips from existing players that will probably get close to $1 million each (on average)...then add in ne…

  16. Lewis Obiorah has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to play basketball next season at The University of Texas, head coach Sean Miller announced Wednesday. Obiorah, who spent last year playing at Barking Abbey Basketball Academy in London, will join the Longhorns as a true freshman for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Obiorah (7-1, 245), a center from London, England, played for head coach Rikki Broadmore at Barking Abbey in the Elite Academy Basketball League (EABL), which features the top under-19 players in the country. Obiorah earned EABL championship finals MVP honors while leading Barking Abbey to the EABL championship last year. He averaged 10.7 points…

  17. @CJ Vogel @Gerry Hamilton Any reason why Texas never offered Davian Groce out of Frisco Lone Star? Would think he would be a nice option as an athlete that has experience at both WR and RB. I’ll also say, I would have expected bigger offers than what he has considering his athletic profile.
