  3. Yes Sark is playing the long game in high school recruiting…but do we think he’s also putting more NIL value going forward on retention of roster and proven/developed portal players? This formula is working in basketball. Just curious on thoughts. Do you pay big money to high school recruits out of the gate or let them bake in another program for a year or so and then recruit out of portal?

  4. Texas 4-star++ LB Brayden Rouse will announce his decision July 8. As of Sunday, it’s expected to be Tennessee or Texas. The Vols have the long standing relationship with the family

What are your thoughts on this ? Haven’t heard yall talk much about him lately .

  6. I’ve witnessed 2-3 recruits throw a Longhorn hat on the ground during live commitments. OUR STAFF AND PLAYERS use all available resources to give these recruits a great experience on their OV’s and in constant communication for months building these relationships treating them as major priorities. I haven’t seen or heard of this happening elsewhere, although I’m sure it does. I know there’s not a direct explanation. However, it’s hard to fathom, especially in-state recruits. I guess I’m not understanding where the behavior is coming from, especially a K Finley. Regardless of his statement he put out to all the schools after the fact. PRAYERS TO ALL TEXAN…

@Gerry Hamilton @CJ Vogel we are a lifetime away from 2027 recruiting but the kid went out of his way to mention Texas. What’s the intel on this kid? I know coaches are already on 2027 recruits, what’s some nuggets we can gather this early on the next class?

  11. Hello folks, I think it's safe to say that we've all had heavy hearts over the past few days and seeing the devastation in Central Texas. As someone who is not from Texas, it's been incredibly heartwarming seeing our community rally around each other and strangers in the aftermath. In the interest of full transparency, I wanted to give you the behind the scenes of why we chose the Central Texas Food Bank as our charity tonight. Firstly, while we obviously appreciate the work more well-known/national/international non-profits (Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc.) do, we wanted to make a difference locally. Secondly, YouTube has a strict, weeks-long pr…

  13. The Athletic ranked the top 100 rivalries in college football and Texas gets three on the list, including two in the top 15. 38. Texas vs Arkansas First Meeting: Nov. 29, 1894 What to know: When Arkansas joined the SEC in 1992, this was a top-15 rivalry. It has a chance to inch upward now that they’re in the same conference again, but it’s unlikely the stakes will be as high annually as they were in the Southwest Conference. The SEC competition is too fierce and too much time has passed. From 1925 through Arkansas’ departure, the Razorbacks were the only non-Texas team in the SWC, which added to the saltiness between the programs. They’ve met 18 t…

  15. OnTexasFootball doesn’t believe there is any new movement with 4-star++ WR Jalen Lott ahead of his July 8 announcement. 1. Oregon 2. Texas

  16. https://apple.news/ABjiGF4g_QxqbE3rSezQO1w I’m bias but would swap Texas -v- OU (3) with Bama -v- Auburn (2). Also, Texas -v- A&M (15) should be in top 10 rivalries imo. Would swap Minnesota -v- Wisconsin (10) with the Horns/Ags.

  17. I don't really care much about Ojo's recruitment or him going to Tech. As Bobby said, it does seem we "dodged a bullet". I do care about the lack of transparency and learning more about the NIL landscape, so I find any scrap of info about these NIL deals interesting. Bobby alluded to some of this during OTF this morning, but I wanted to post a few excerpts from The Athletic's story on the Ojo deal. Basically, Tech's deal is based on a promise that the cap will increase over the next 4 years or that it won't be enforced. I feel almost bad for Ojo and his family being taken by this agent. Texas Tech’s latest recruiting coup: How big is deal for 5-star offensi…

  18. Came across this article on CBS Sports (in partnership with 247) from exactly 2 years ago to the day that outlined their rankings of all Head Coaches in College Football. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-12-coach-rankings-2023-oklahoma-states-mike-gundy-dethroned-as-tcus-sonny-dykes-rises-to-top/ Texas had just come off the 8-5 Season, second year under Sark culminating with a loss to Washington in the bowl game. In this article, posted on July 8, 2023, Sark ranked 37th overall and 8th among the Big 12 coaches according to their internal poll. This was only 2 f'ng years ago. Has any coach achieved more and helped their team improve more in the…

  19. That is the last time the Big12 had an offensive linemen drafted in the first round from a program other than OU, Texas or TAMU. Outside of those teams, Big12 has had 5 OL drafted in the first round this millennium. We all know the OL draft woes Texas has had- yet Texas has still had more first round OL this Millenium than any current or former Big12 program other than OU or TAMU (3: Kelvin Banks, Leonard Davis, Mike Williams). It's quite clear the NFL doesn't think highly Big12 offensive lines.

  20. Crazy how quickly these professional sports valuations have ballooned over past 10 yrs. Great article on ESPN about the Celtics sale. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44328557/sources-bill-chisholm-agrees-buy-celtics-61-billion
