A&M is “off to a great start with five stars”. There’s a “Fong Bomb” of a player going here or there. It’s almost funny. It feels like a concerted media effort by those who are fed information from those very programs. Actually, that’s exactly what it is. Texas basketball adds developmental PG to the fold The Texas Longhorns added another player to the 2026-27 roster. Lithuanian 19-year old 6-foot-4 point guard Mantas Laurencikas committed to Sean Miller and staff Friday adding more depth and size to the backcourt. Laurencikas is seen as a developmental type prospect upon arrival in Austin in June. Year one in the college game is expected to center very largely around development, and practicing against elite guard talent. Texas landed a massive piece to its 2027 class on Friday afternoon as Libertyville (Ill.) tight end Brock Williams, widely viewed as one of the top tight end prospects in America, committed to the Longhorns over Georgia and Ohio State. He announced his choice on the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect is the 11th pledge for UT thus far in the class, and the second tight end joining JT Geraci. Texas Offers 2027 Gunter (TX) OL Caleb Siler *** Kyle Flood and the Texas staff extended an offer late Sunday evening up in the north DFW area. 6-foot-8-inch Gunter High OL Caleb Siler reported an offer from The University of Texas, the 29th of his recruitment. Siler originally visited the Longhorns on April 3rd and Texas circles back with an offer about five weeks after. In regards to an official visit, it appears likely. However, Siler did say they are awaiting finalization of dates when discussing the offer late Sunday night. The ACC spring meetings are taking place this week. And conference officials are squawking about various aspects of their preferred view of college football’s future. Couple of notes: - ACC coaches favor and will push for a 21-day style pre-season training spread over the entire spring and summer as opposed to the current 15-day spring practice window. 2027 K Noah Ash Sets Texas OV *** The Longhorns will receive an official visit from 2027 K Noah Ash on the weekend of June 19th. Jeff Banks and the Texas specialist assistants are going back out to Florida this cycle. Ash calls Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida home. At the moment, Ash is ranked as the No. 2 kicker in the 247Sports rankings and according to Chris Sailer, he is the No. 7 kicker in the country. Four-star cornerback Dhillon McGee out of Red Oak (Texas) will announce his commitment on June 25, he confirmed on Tuesday morning. The finalists are Texas, Penn State, and SMU. McGee will officially visit Austin June 19-21, meaning the Longhorns will have the last crack at the in-state cornerback during OV season.
