With track and field season ending over the weekend in the Lone Star State, OTF brings you the fastest Texas targets in the 2027 class. Included below are PRs in the 100M, 200M, long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus. Since every target doesn’t compete in track, there are several priority prospects missing from the list. Every mark below was sourced from either MileSplit or Athletic.net. Since neither platform requires coaches or athletes to report wind readings, the PRs listed below reflect the recorded marks regardless of wind conditions. The Texas Longhorns hold an Elite Camp every summer that's filled with prospects who already hold offers from Texas or are working out in front of the staff in hopes of landing an offer. Typically held the first weekend of June, the Longhorns moved this year's Elite Camp to the last weekend of May due to this year's calendar making the first weekend in June (6-8) an official visit weekend for the burnt orange. The Elite Camp has been a staple of offseason recruiting during the Steve Sarkisian era. This exact camp is where plenty of offers were extended to eventual Longhorns like Jamarion Carlton, Nicolas Robertson, Cameron Hall, and Greedy James amongst others. …

Where the 2025 No. 1 ranked class stands headed into the 2026 season The Texas Longhorns No. 1 ranked 2025 class is heading into year two on the Forty Acres. The class of 25 signees is down to 20 remaining in the program after five transferred out following the 2025 season. Of the 20, at least three will be starters headed into year two, and six or seven will be second team. Of the eight players listed as "depth" entering year two, there are multiple that the staff believes could be starter level players with NFL draft pick potential after another season of development. Two of the most talented players in the program are listed as TBD due to injury. …

OTF has confirmed West Boca Raton (Fla.) DL Jamar Thompson will be in Austin for an official visit the June 19-21 weekend. Auburn, Miami, and Ohio State are the other schools in the mix. Michigan was previously a contender but got axed in favor of Texas. Thompson's OV schedule: Auburn (May 29-31) Miami (June 5-7) Ohio State (June 12-14) Texas (June 19-21) Kenny Baker and the Longhorns offered Thompson on June 15, 2025 but the OV will be Thompson's first time on campus.

Hoops recruiting: Miller and staff watch 2027's over the weekend Sean Miller and staff members were dispersed around the country over the weekend with the lone May live period event. Nike EYBL played in Memphis, Adidas 3SSB played in the Indianapolis area, Puma NXTPRO played in Tulsa and Under Armour played in the Cincinnati area. 2028 DL Kellan Hall to Visit Texas May 31st **** The Longhorns will be hosting a massive 2028 prospect at the end of the month for the Elite Camp. Kellan Hall, a five-star defensive lineman out of the Christian Academy of Louisville, will be one of the headliners for the Longhorns Elite Camp on the 31st. Hall was recently ranked as the No. 4 player in the country per Rivals during their most recent rankings release. Compared to years past, Texas is off to a hot start in the 2027 recruiting cycle and already holds 11 pledges ahead of June official visits. The Longhorns already have a good balance of high-dollar difference makers and less-expensive developmental prospects, but the class will continue to grow and should double in size by the time Ohio State makes it to Austin for what should be a huge recruiting weekend. Several Texas football players are headed to New Orleans this week to work with quarterback Arch Manning. Some players flew in yesterday. Some are getting in later today. Texas Softball Advance to Super Regionals *** Mike White and Texas Softball are moving onto the Super Regionals of the NCAA Tournament. A 7–0 victory over Baylor secured the regional round victory for the No. 2 ranked Horns on Sunday. Teagan Kavan was superb in the circle, allowing just three hits, one of which to the leadoff hitter for the Bears in the 1st inning. Red Oak (Texas) cornerback Dhillon McGee announced his top three earlier this week of Texas, Penn State and SMU. He ranked his suitors with OnTexasFootball ahead of his June 25th decision date. “So No. 1, I’m going to go Texas, No. 2 is Penn State, and No. 3 is SMU,” McGee told OTF this weekend.
