  5. AUSTIN, Texas — Texas freshman five-star quarterback Dia Bell arrived onto the field later than the other quarterbacks on Saturday at Texas Football's Fan Day. Why is that notable? Bell walked onto the field noticeably gingerly, and without his helmet. Bell eventually put on a helmet after throwing a few passes and talking with some staff members. It puts into doubt how active the freshman signal caller will be today when the teams go into live action. We'll keep you posted on OTF. View full news story

  6. AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Longhorns hit the transfer portal jackpot this offseason, securing a commitment from one of the top playmakers in the country in former Auburn wideout Cam Coleman. The Phenix City, Ala. native comes to Austin having tallied 93 catches for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns with the Tigers. A contract year catching passes from Arch Manning was something the 6-foot-3, 200-pound junior didn’t want to pass up. “Really just what they’ve been doing in the past, really just what they’ve got rolling here,” Coleman told reporters this week of what led him to Texas. “It’s just a really good fit for me. … “Really just putting more stuff on film, show…

  7. Happy Friday! *** Spring Ball MVPs A nod of the cap for guys I have heard the most about the spring on both sides of the ball: Offensive MVP – WR Cam Coleman No surprise here. Coleman has been everything he was advertised to be this spring. Offensive Freshman MVP – RB Derrek Cooper Kyle Flood mentioning how well Cooper has performed in the pass protection game was the cherry on top for the spring. Defensive MVP – CB Bo Mascoe Interceptions and plays on the football were the theme about Mascoe all spring long. Defensive Freshman MVP – CB Samari Matthews Time and time again the freshman cornerback's name …

  8. Sean Miller and staff have added a third member out of the portal to the 2026-27 Texas Longhorns team. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder was one of the top defensive guards in 2025-26 in the SEC as a freshman. He’s a rugged, tough,…

  10. The late run on the transfer portal continues for Texas, as the Longhorns have added a defensive back to the fold in Brown cornerback Nick Hudson. The Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek product is entering his redshirt senior season after appearing in just seven games in 2025. For his career at Brown, Hudson tallied 52 tackles and 13 pass breakups in 27 games. Entering 2025, Hudson was a Third Team Phil Steele Preseason All-Ivy selection. 13. AUSTIN, Texas — The Longhorns will host their annual Football Fan Day on Saturday, as Texas concludes spring football with an open practice. It won’t be a traditional spring game, but the team will scrimmage in some capacity for the fans on hand at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. “Ballpark, you know, we'll probably go about 70-75 plays or so. Of those 70-75 plays, I'd venture to guess between 45 to 50 of those will be live," Steve Sarkisian said this week. "Part of that will be a thud tempo, because when we go to live I take some of these guys out so that they don't get some of those nicked up injuries, and I need to see more of our younger players play live footb…

  14. Texas signed 2026 edge Brinley Tita earlier this week to add another piece to its top 10-ranked class. But the Longhorns don't appear as though they're done bolstering the position group. Long Beach City College edge rusher Paul Kouame tells OTF he's currently en route to Austin for an official visit. The 6-foot-3, 242-pounder is coming off a freshman season with the Vikings where he totaled 34 tackles, including three tackles for a loss, and two sacks. Kouame is originally from City Honors College High School in Inglewood. This is the only official visit Kouame currently has set. View full news story

  15. Texas Assistants Speak on Young Standouts *** A few of the Texas Assistant Coaches spoke with the media on Thursday to discuss the spring season as well as reflect on the development of guys in their room. - Kyle Flood on OL John Turntine III "I never doubted that John would put the weight on, if I had concerns about that, then I think it would have been tough to recruit him. I remember Trevor Goosby getting here at sub-270 and he grew and is now 315 or so. But I think (John) is handling the weight very well. He is a very lean guy, so he has to be very deliberate with what he does to put that weight on. And he has done a good job with our nutritio…

  16. Thursday recruiting: 5-star's Sales and Meredith III; and more The Texas staff had a huge day on Wednesday, and Thursday is scheduled to be more of the same. OTF provides the latest on the recruiting trail. 5-star Monshun Sales Texas knocked out the first day of a two day visit Wednesday. The 6-5, 205-pound Sales made his first ever visit to Texas Wednesday, along with his father. Sales spent time with Steve Sarkisian, Chris Jackson and a number of Texas players on the offensive side of the ball. Sales began the UOV with the thought of potentially setting up an official visit depending on how the visit went for both sides. Last night after dinner, Sale …

  17. The Texas staff recently extended a late 2026 offer to Humble (Texas) Summer Creek edge rusher Brinley Tita. The in-state standout didn't wait long to take the Longhorns up on the invitation, and has signed with the program ahead of summer. The new 105 scholarship limit has allowed the UT staff to add more developmental pieces to the fold. Per a source at Texas, Tita is seen as a solid in-state player that adds depth to the edge room. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder tallied 94 total tackles, including 22 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks as a senior on his way to earning Co-Defenisve Player of the Year honors in 23-6A. He originally signed with Cisco College to go the …

  19. The Path to Texas for Linebacker Rasheem Biles *** Missed Calls – A song by Treaty Oak Revival, a song by Mac Miller and now a recruiting pitch used by Will Muschamp. While a corny hook to this article, it is the overall storyline of how Texas was able to land former Pitt linebacker and 2025 1st Team All-ACC standout Rasheem Biles this offseason. Biles met with the media on Wednesday for the first time since enrolling at Texas and recapped what ended up being a rather funny story about the way in which Texas ended up getting in contact with him and why he ended up committing to the Longhorns. "Actually it was kind of funny because (the staff) had …

  20. Recruiting: Monshun Sales; decisions on deck OnTexasFootball broke the news that 5-star wide receiver Monshun Sales is scheduled to be in Austin today and Thursday. The news of the visits is also very interesting because the circle of Sales reached out to Texas and informed the staff of Monshun having serious interest prior to the recruitment beginning. With the 6-5, 205-pounder with 4.37 speed arriving in Austin today, that adds another top national prospect seriously considering the Longhorns. Sales has one official visit date open, June 5-7. The expectation is that Sales will lock in an OV date with Texas on the visit. Ohio State, Indiana, Alabama and …

  21. On how spring has gone “It’s been it's been different, but it's been good. We got a good group. It's honestly been kind of unique for me, getting a bunch of mental reps and kind of being off to the side. I've got to spend a lot of time with these new guys, freshmen and transfers and the guys coming back. So it's been a it's been fun.” Thoughts on Cam Coleman “He’s an elite player, and he wants to be good, which is the most encouraging thing. He's a hard worker, and I'm excited.” On Manning’s role recruiting Cam Coleman “Everyone was like, oh, I went to dinner with him, blah, blah, but it was really Ryan Wingo who went to dinner with him. I had to…

  22. Recruiting Tuesday: John Meredith III + three big time WR's DFW, Texas - OnTexasFootball was out and about at schools in the Metroplex on Monday seeing a number of Texas targets. Two of the stops I will hit on this morning, with impactful intel gathered. Those two stops I'm hitting on this morning couldn't be further apart - North Crowley and North Forney. We will begin with the athletic period stop at North Crowley. John Meredith III The 5-star cornerback visited Texas last week, and the visit certainly helped the Longhorns despite Steve Sarkisian not being part of that visit. Meredith III said Sarkisian was in "quarantine". Meredith III spent plenty o…

  23. Month of May Proving to Be Key for Justus Terry *** Texas has taken part in 13 practices so far during the spring season, and while there have been plenty of positive storylines to emerge out of the the last four weeks, one notable talent has remained sidelined throughout the Longhorns' time at Denius. Justus Terry has yet to fully participate in spring football so far with the Horns in 2026 after rehabbing a shoulder injury that kept him out of the bowl game vs. Michigan. Terry is suiting up for practice, but more out trivial than out of actual significance. He remains on the back fields during practice to work with the Longhorns' strength and conditi…

  24. Started by CJ Vogel,

It was noted loosely the last day or so, but wanted to make it a full post. I have it on good authority WR Emmett Mosley V is back on the practice field for the Longhorns. Mosley is expected to be a participant in all routes on air and a limited participant in 1v1’s and team drills. Arch Manning will get the final week of spring ball to throw to Mosley, Ryan Wingo and Cam Coleman on the same offense. Great sign for Mosley who was not expected to participate much in spring about a month ago. View full news story

  25. Steve Sarkisian Speaks on the Texas Quarterbacks *** We have reached the final week of practice for the 2026 spring session. There has been plenty of excitement as Steve Sarkisian boasted about the team speed and athleticism on Tuesday to the local media. This group of Longhorn playmakers can run fast, jump high, cut quickly and now – most importantly of all – throw accurately. Sarkisian spoke highly of the Texas quarterbacks today, starting with Arch Manning. "Come back in June 100% ready to rock & roll," Sarkisian said about the plan for Arch Manning. "He could probably be out there right now, there's no doubt about it. But I don't know what…
