  2. I'm a mentor to a young man who experienced the portal madness from a basketball player perspective two years ago. He's now playing professionally and felt great about his decision, but it's hard to describe how complicated this week is for these players. I've seen so many posts (and Tweets) that say something along the lines of, "We're Texas! Why wouldn't people just line up to play here?" OR "We're Texas! Why would anyone leave here given all they offer?" But that's not what they're thinking. I'm sure football is a little different, but I'd bet most of what my guy experienced translates. This guy was living at our home during the "visit season" and we set up a "wa…

  4. If you could wave a magic wand and Texas get ONE specific player that’s in the portal… who would it be? Only one. They have to be in the portal/have announced their intentions to enter the portal Who yall taking? Who helps Texas the most?

  5. Tracking Portal Entrants Across the Country *** Starting an ongoing thread for portal entrants this December and January. There will be a separate thread for Texas entrants, but this should provide an idea of which talent elsewhere is going to be on the move this offseason.

  7. Signing with a new agency is usually viewed as a posturing position. These 3 Longhorns signed with the same agency this season: Trey Owens - publicly signed* 10/12 Ryan Niblett - publicly signed* 11/12 Colton Vaskek - publicly signed* 11/28 **publicly signed with agency meaning they could have been with them before, but it was not posted until listed date Niblett getting new representation makes sense and it doesn't necessarily mean he is leaving. But he will likely be looking for more money/opportunity (as he should). The other 2 I would say are gone. Agency IG: @liftsportsmanagement This is neither a good nor bad thing btw. All of …

Guys anyone know if Texas requires their NIL athletes to sign a NDA (non-disclosure agreement)? I would think it would be standard business but I hear reports (accurate or not) about players talking about how much NIL money they’re making.

  10. The only bowl game I was ever directly associated with was our 1991 game versus Miami. The number one lesson learned is keep focus on the task at hand. we had not been to a Cotton Bowl since the 1984 game versus Georgia. Many of the guys had the attitude “We are happy to be here” The team was more interested in things like “what color of shoes are we going to wear”. (I kid you not) and weather or not we could get an extra set of warmups instead of the traditional Stetson cowboy hat. Bowl gifts are nice but a win would have been nicer. My brother still has his Stetsons from the 1982 and 1984 Cotton Bowls. My 1991 warmups eventually wore out and end…

  11. Over the last few weeks 2 things have become abundantly clear: 1. This women's volleyball team has what it takes to make a deep run in the post-season and claiming their 5th national championship is certainly a possibility 2. There is a good amount of interest on this board in the team. That said, I think it would be great to host all volleyball content on one thread throughout the season. @Sarah O and @GoHorns1 have been creating separate threads for each match, but let's just throw all of those on here. It'll also be a great spot for video highlights, social media posts and any other volleyball related news. If you haven't been paying attention to th…

  13. View from the Cheap Seats-Michigan Horns are the Cheeziest The Arch Manning Show. What a fantastic performance, and precisely what Horn fans expected every week. It took young Arch more than a few games to settle in, and even after that, there were a couple of less-than-great performances. Please make no mistake, Arch finished VERY STRONG in his 6 of TEXAS last 8 games, starting with the Red River War. And he saved the very best for last vs the Aggies, then Michigan, where he would earn the Citrus Bowl MVP, just like his Uncle 28 years before. This game was very back-and-forth until the 4th quarter. You had the feeling that TEXAS was the bette…

  14. Should Arch Manning change his last name to “Heismanning”?

  15. 1) Discipline discipline discipline!!! OL no false starts, holding, illegal formations, etc. UT, all the above!!! 2) Tackling. Watch IU’s LB’s and DB’s. No whiffing, no trying to knock WR’s and RB’s off their feet. They get there, run through the ball carrier and most importantly wrap up!!! UT, not so much. Hope Muschamp makes tackling a priority.

  16. 6:30 central time. I hope we start conference play with a win. They are going to be a good opponent. The SEC is loaded this year. On another note, the Sand Aggies just signed a 7 footer from Africa and she is eligible to play immediately.

  17. Throughout the 2025 season, whenever I’ve been asked to describe or define the identity of the Texas offense, my answer hasn’t changed. It's Arch Manning. When the Longhorns started a critical fourth-quarter drive in Wednesday’s 41-27 win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, with Texas (10-3) facing a 27-24 deficit with 10:56 remaining in regulation, @Rod Babers wondered out loud during our watch along whether Steve Sarkisian would focus on players or plays to move the football. Immediately after Manning’s fourth-and-2 scramble for 15 yards, which preceded his 30-yard touchdown strike to Kaliq Lockett for the go-ahead score, we had our answer. “Arch is th…

  18. Initial returns I have been able to gather were relatively positive for Mosley. The Longhorn wide receiver was spotted on crutches and a protective boot in the postgame after the win over Michigan. Based off of what I have collected today, the belief is that Mosley avoided significant injury to his ankle/foot. Mosley left the game in the 2nd quarter after a hit on the sideline left him unable to put much weight on his foot and knocked him out of the game. Again, still early, since the injury. However, the belief is that Mosley should not be sidelined too deep into winter conditioning.

  19. Defenses are still underestimating his speed. Defenders are taking bad angles and Arch is running past them. I bet on his 60 yard TD run he had to be around 21 mph I bet. So proud of him how he kept his head down and didn’t let the hype get him down. His 2nd half of the season has me very pumped for 2026. Hook’em!!!

  20. Wow, what a showing by Texas A&M and Texas Tech, a total of 3 points scored, way to show out guys!

  21. I might be one of the few members here that actually saw Sark play quarterback live at BYU. I used to follow him because he went to El Camino JC as did my mom. He was a very fiery quarterback. Similar to Pavia. Fast forward to today, and he is very professional with the media, however, you just know behind closed doors he is as fiery and passionate as they come. No way were we losing to Michigan. He had our young guys ready for an alley fight.

  22. Ya'll averaged 1.5 points per game in the 2025 College Football Playoffs. Congratulations. Ya'll represented the great state of Texas so well. Watching the two train wrecks (as well as OU) is the next best thing to being there.

  23. @Bobby Burton @Gerry Hamilton Last cycle we were pretty in on these guys and I wonder if it ever came out how much more Tech paid than our offer to get these guys? I think few people recognized Bailey could be a stud, but we were after him pretty hard. I feel like Lee Hunter would have also been a great hit for us.
