  3. Quick Note on Defensive Backs *** A couple of quick hitters on the defensive back room. *** – First, when the team returns from spring break, I expect Zelus Hicks to be very close to returning as a full participant for the Horns. Hicks had been sidelined with a foot injury during winter conditioning, but is close to getting out on the field for the first time this spring. Hicks had previously been on the field for pre-practice warmups, but would then head for work with the training/conditioning staff off to the side. – From Friday's practice, I was told Wardell Mack came away with an interception from 7v7 period. Mack continues to get work in…

  6. So many of you always ask how he’s doing and we are so fortunate to be involved in a community that truly cares. I wanted to share this with you all, as the majority of you have been around for every step of his journey. Colt was given the annual Padilla Poll Hero Award for 2025. They announced it last week and his athletic director posted about it today.

  11. Texas hosted 2027 All Saints Episcopal (TX) DL Kingston Beyer for an unofficial visit and spring practice on Friday. On Texas Football caught up with the 6-foot-3-inch defensive lineman about the visit and his growing relationship with defensive line coach Kenny Baker. ”I mean it’s great with Coach (Kenny) Baker,” Beyer said. “He’s a straight shooter and you know where you’re at.” At the moment the Longhorns have yet to offer Beyer, however his interest in the Longhorns remains high especially in the player development side. ”Texas development is where it’s at — it’s a place where you can get developed and put in the league.” Beyer currently holds…

  12. College basketball might've been my favorite sport when I was a kid. I remember my brother and I messing with rabbit ears on an old TV to watch the Duke-UNLV semifinal in 1991. I hated Christian Laettner. I loved the Fab Five. The UConn-Georgetown Big East Tournament final in 1996 (Ray Allen vs. Allen Iverson) remains one of the most exciting basketball games I've ever watched at any level. For me, college basketball peaked during the 2003 season. Texas' run to the Final Four. I've followed it as a fan and media member since then, but I remember more about that tournament and that season than almost every tournament that's been played in the last 20-plus years. …
