I know it’s only the first half of the first game but they better hope they can time of possession us with the run game. Fresno state has held them to 32 yards of rushing in the first half, FRESNO FLIPPING STATE.

  3. An Abilene Christian University football bus was involved in an accident shortly before midnight Saturday, following its game against Texas Tech in Lubbock. A university statement says there were four minor injuries on the bus including a student-athlete, two coaches and the bus driver. All were taken to a local hospital. The accident involved at least one other vehicle and the ACU statement says it happened at the intersection of Marsha Sharp freeway frontage road and University Avenue at approximately 11:45pm. The university statement said in part, "We (ACU) are grateful to Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt, their team physician, Dr. Michael Phy, a…

  4. Yesterday on ESPN’s College Gameday, Lee Corso (like the rest of the staff) made five picks for Saturday’s games. But he was the only one to nail all of them, including being the Lone Ranger on two of his picks. Boise State over Georgia Southern Vanderbilt over Virginia Tech (only one) Penn State over West Virginia Miami over Florida Notre Dame over Texas A&M (only one) He also has LSU over USC and FSU over BC. Also, did you know that Corso turned down a contract from the Los Angeles Dodgers to play college football and that his roommate was Burt Reynolds?

Last year Texas almost blew multiple games on the road because of poor 2nd half play. The offense disappeared and couldn’t move the ball. This will be a true test of whether they’ve leveled up as a team. I feel they will start fast and have an opportunity to put their foot on Michigan’s neck. Will they go back to their old ways or take step to another level as a team? Can’t wait until Saturday.

  7. “The best thing for Arch Manning is to spend five years at the University of Texas,” Brees said. ... "That’d be the best thing for him is just stay there, lock in, learn, grow, develop, become an incredible leader for that team and make a run at some national championships," Brees said. "Then, he will be the most prepared going into the NFL at that point." I could dig it. https://www.si.com/nfl/drew-brees-unorthodox-take-texas-arch-manning-approach-career

With the way Oregon is struggling with Idaho, we may move up a spot in the polls. Not that it matters this early but the higher ranking would feed into the matchup hype with Michigan next week.

  9. Big blow to OUs offense. Starting WR broke his foot last night against temple

Texas easily handled the Rams. Pros The secondary played light years ahead of game 1 last season. 3rd down defense was really good. Quinn had a clean pocket most of the night. Most of the receivers got involved and made necessary catches. Most importantly no major injuries that I am aware of. Cons First down defense was a little uneven. Several 1st gave up plays of 5 yards or greater leaving favorable down and distance situations for the offense. Run defense gave up a bit to much. What say you?

Looks funny in a number 15. That is all.

  17. Clemson didn’t look good on their first drive on offense.

  18. Jordan Johnson Rubell looked very comfortable in the spring game for a true freshman, and him being the third option at 2 positions makes me feel like he’s gonna be a dog for us in the future.

Just a reminder that the Longhorn Network is now a website and/or app. That's where we can find the pregame and postgame shows, etc.
