On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. Great story. I didn’t know about his mom. https://sports.yahoo.com/put-those-guys-in-the-dirt--buoyed-by-his-mothers-strength-kelvin-banks-jr-is-doing-damage-at-texas-125832397.html

  2. After taking multiple losses in the court system, the NCAA is still trying to eliminate collectives as part of the House settlement. The judge isn’t going for it and advised the parties to quickly figure it out. The fact that CDC went public with the idea of bringing collectives in-house within the AD, an awful idea, rather than allowing third parties to run them makes more sense if the push came from Indianapolis. Yahoo story.

  3. Indiana is 3-0 and in the "also receiving votes" category. Pretty good squad. Beat a decent UC Davis team 3-1 in Bloomington. Leading middle blocker Boersma is a somewhat undersized (6'2") freshman. Offense is fairly well spread among Alonso-Carcelles (115 attacks), Saris (90), and Tatum (78). By comparison, Texas is led by Skinner (118) and Wenaas (92), with Rutherford far behind at just 44. Time to see if Carlson and the hitters are getting in sync.

  4. Playing at Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State in consecutive seasons has to be one of the more challenging non-conference stretches in college football. The schedule wasn’t originally intended to work out in this order, but I applaud CDC and company for scheduling teams of this caliber as part of our non-conference schedule. I can’t wait for the Big House experience tomorrow. The game will be a high profile test of talent, coaching, and style of play. In a contest of contrasting styles, whom will be able to break the other team will ultimately decide the day.

Considering how long we were mired in mediocrity, this is a pretty impressive number.

When NIL first became legal I wondered about this scenario. Will fans continue to contribute if their funds are wasted on bad teams? https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5745716/2024/09/04/florida-state-nil-team-budget-2024/

Starting Davis Warren against Fresno was a ruse. I expect to get a full dose of Alex Orji this Saturday in the Big House. I expect lots of quarterback run And various forms of option plays whether they be classic run option or RPOs. I believe Michigan's best chance to win is by pressing our defense and with all eleven players.

  16. So are they still filing suit to leave the acc? Who is going to want them? FSU may not have a winning record this year. Clemson can still turn it around, but they are not as desirable as they were a few years ago.

  17. Im old so new music is awful to me and Im guessing most if not all of you knew this, but I was cracking myself up seeing the video of the Notre Dame game and finding out their crowd pumping song is called Mo Bamba. You can't even make up the stuff Lil brother does and why they are so easy to make fun of. Im still getting a good laugh out of it.
