Is Georgia aware this game started? Also, am I missing something on Carson Beck that everyone else is seeing?

I think I’m not horribly worried about the run defense because I think PK’s plan was to test his defense to see if they could consistently stop the run with a 5 man box. They pivoted in the second half because they couldn’t and the difference was palpable. If other teams think the same blueprint will work against Texas they’re gonna be surprised.

Kyle, I didn't catch your OTF handle but figured I would just use "Kyle From Canada". I hope you and your mother enjoyed your visit to Austin and your very first Texas Longhorn game. Please come back sometime and bring some Canadian fall weather. Hook'em

I know folks have differing opinions on Pro Football Focus, but I did want to share this about QB Arch Manning after last night. PFF gave Manning a grade of 94.2 for his performance against Mississippi State – that was the highest grade given out to a quarterback in all of college football for week five. Not just that, but it is the highest individual game grade given to a quarterback all season by PFF. Pretty high praise for a kid making his second career start and his first ever against an SEC team.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is speaking with the media after the Longhorns victory over Mississippi State. It was ugly and I am sure there will be some changes coming. But a win is a win, especially now in SEC play where they matter a bit more. Notes and quotes in the comments below.

Update: 4-star LB Madden Faraimo OnTexasFootball exchanged messages with a person locked into the recruitment of 4-star++ linebacker Madden Faraimo (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./JSerra Catholic) a little while ago. As expected, Texas linebackers coach Johnny Nansen continues to make an all in recruiting run at the high-end linebacker. According to the source, Nansen and Faraimo are discussing a game day visit this season, but a date has not been locked in yet. The source said Nansen and Faraimo spoke last week, at least once. Faraimo has a top three of USC, Notre Dame and Texas. The Trojans have made the most impactful run thus far this season.

I saw it mentioned on 2 other forums, including a Texas State forum, that the Texas State baseball team just got a commit for a SS that was once committed to UT. Neither mentioned a name. That is all I could find. Anyone hear know more about that?

For anyone curious or just wanting to reminisce, i have a video i had taken on my digital camera back in 2003 that i would like to share with y'all. I think this is during pregame for the Texas vs Nebraska game from 2003. DKR was so different back then! Sorry for the low quality, this is the best that digital cameras could do back then.

Hadn't seen anything posted yet and I know it's early but has anyone heard any recruiting news coming out of last night's game? Just wondering what recruits were thinking and saying after a slow start but a better finish. Just hope we didn't sour anyone last night. A win is a win I know but sometimes when you get hyped about seeing or experiencing something and it doesn't live up to expectations you can walk away with a different view of things. I just hope that didn't happen yesterday. HOOK 'EM 🤘 🤘

Ok, I used to do this on another forum, and I've always liked it. This is a little bit of a giveaway. The winner gets a free month of a OTF.com subscription. The contest is open to subscribers and non-subscribers alike. If you're already an OG, we'll add a free month on to the end of your current subscription. If you're not a subscriber, we'll get you a free month. So here goes. This is a straight score prediction. The person closest to the final score, picking the winner and final score, wins a free month. If there are two similar scores, the person who entered first on this thread is the winner. Entries close before kickoff. Winner also gets bra…

According to The Austin American Statesman, Ewers is now listed as out for today's game. Not questionable, not doubtful, but out.

Thamel just reported on College Gameday he was told ewers is at about 75% and not expected to play to day. Wonder if the percentage is accurate, but sounds like the right move to rest QB1 this week with a bye next week.

I’m not a scout and don’t pretend to be so anyone who’s knowledgeable please weigh in. Understand that Fasusi wants early playing time, but from a scout’s point of view, would it be better to: 1: start early on the ou oline that’s terrible and known for being terrible (at the moment) and if it does not improve does not make you look as good (your teammates help make you look good or bad imo - a good QB makes a receiver look better and vice versa) 2: compete and when you earn playing time on the Texas oline that’s considered one of the best (with one of the games best coaches) My logic tells me scenario 2 but want to make sure I’m not looking at it with…

Venables is dividing the program. He's now throwing the offensive coaches under the bus. The offensive coaches spent all spring and summer telling him not to start Arnold, but he said no because the donors wouldn't stand for it so they just had to get Arnold ready. They are now openly talking among themselves about who went to the donors and asked them to pony up the NIL to keep Arnold. They are talking about who chose Arnold over Gabriel when the Arnold camp came pimping in December. Guy isn't a head coach. He's defensive coordinator.
