OTF on the road: Hastings & FB Marshall
I'm a graduate of Alief Hastings (not naming the year) but hope he ends up with the good guys.

Christian Jones on “Is Texas Back”
The big difference between Sark's tenure so far is the guys that stayed with the program that weren't "stars" before were able to make it to the NFL and be drafted higher than they projected. Like Byron Murphy, T'vondre Sweat, Christian Jones. Contrast that (not to throw stones) with the previous regime where 5 star can't misses ended up going in lower rounds and very few draft picks.

One Major Thing (Please read)
This is the kicker, hitting is hot and cold but pitching has been consistently terrible all year. Can't expect to win it all with that formula. And the goal at Texas is to win it all, not make it to a regional.

2024 Longhorn Mock Draft 2.0 | 20 Days Away
Will be excited on draft day for the first time in many years - both as a Texas fan and as a Texans fan.

Former Texas/current Duke QB Maalik Murphy
Reminds me a bit of Jalen Milroe with his deep pass. Just not the same runner.

Counter to obvious offensive schemes?
Rod mentioned on the latest show that if Sark doesn't think Helm is a difference maker that he won't scheme him. And you'll see it I. The first few games. This made me think, once a defensive coordinator sees that, wouldn't he then scheme accordingly? Like rotate a weaker defender over to Helm knowing he's not a threat. It kind of reminds me of when ou would put in Blake Bell, I would scream that it's an obvious run and was utterly confused why Texas didn't sell out on the line knowing it was a 99% chance it was a run. Any help in understanding the thought processes of the defense would be appreciated.

NFL.com Draft Grades: Ten Longhorns Graded
As with college, I think a little luck plays into whether a player will be successful or not (most of the time). As someone said earlier, Worthy's production may vastly differ from being in KC's offense versus being in say the Bears. Also, there's a big difference in which QB is throwing you the ball, which is also out of the player's control.

The Early Betting Line for Tex/OU Has Been Released
Texas was supposed to win last year also, throw out all expectations for that game.

Pick a player!
Roschon Johnson or J Whitt for me, both gave their hearts for the program, did whatever was asked of them, and helped change the culture to bring Texas back to the national spotlight. They were never seen as me first players.

Texas No. 4 in ESPN Way-Too-Early Top 25
With Ohio St. amount of skill position players, Howard doesn't need to be CJ Stroud, if he just game manages and does not turn the ball over, they probably win 90% of their schedule on that alone.

Monday: No Big 12 Teams on Future Schedule
As with everyone else, I'm in total agreement. The other Big 12 schools keep talking trash about how they're glad Texas is leaving the conference. That's great, no more Texas on the schedule and see how your attendance (which includes ticket sales, hotel bookings, restaurant patrons, etc. do). In addition to football, pretty much every other sport's attendance is spiked when Texas comes to town (as the good guy or bad guy) like the volleyball team. It's always a packed house when the Longhorns come to play.

Eli Manning on Arch Manning transfer rumors
I think they are scared, Bobby stated on one of the streams, this is potentially another big window for Texas if the QBs they have in the pipe are as good as we think. A la the 2000s Texas or Bama recently. Thus their hope is that the good QBs in waiting transfer away. In today's world of me first and I wanna start now, it's nice to see the Mannings play the long game.

Culture difference under Sark
I watched this interview of Jake Majors on 3rd and Longhorn on YouTube and one of the points that caught my attention was Alex Okafor talking about how the culture is different with Sark with regards to former players. At about the 3:20 mark, Okafor talks about how while he was in the league, Herman did not allow him to use the weight room. I would think that you'd want NFL players to hang around the team to provide insight and support but I guess that's another reason I'm glad Sark's here.

Aggies to Big 10?
Outside of College Station, the negative PR hit would be so massive (scared of Texas) that I think it would severely damage their ability to recruit, even with NIL. Add that to trying to get local kids to tell their families they would be playing way far away from home. So imo, yes even bigger than Jimbo. He was still bringing in talent.

Tuesday
They have to be thinking about what would happen should any penalties come down on the program. Harbaugh leaving doesn't alleviate Michigan of any faults if they indeed are proven to have committed acts that incur penalties.

Tuesday
I would agree with that - human nature is that they don't want to be considered the person that "broke the damn" or "started the exodus" but if someone else goes first, then they can point the finger at someone else.

As Expected, Jabbar Muhammad
People tend to highlight the negative things and tend to forget the positives. For example - no one ever thanks the payroll team when they get their paychecks (which happens every week, other week, or monthly for years, but they are quick to complain when a mistake happens for whatever reason (system error, manager forgets to approve time, etc.)

BYU students asked to remove "HORNS DOWN"
I think it stemmed from Mike Davis doing a holster motion after a TD and getting flagged for taunting. Mack Brown said in a post game interview that it shouldn't have been a taunting penalty if horns down isn't a penalty.
-
BYU students asked to remove "HORNS DOWN"
I agree with you. Pretty much no Longhorn cares about someone doing a horns down. I think if Texas turns it around like some have suggested into a secondary gesture (mess with the bull, you get the horns pointed down) then it'll be a forgotten thing. Something like horns up to start the games, horns down on attack mode, horns back up to finish the game.

OTF Video: Predicting the Starting Offense
You're probably right, in today's world the portal is practically free agency like the NFL. Rosters can be completely overhauled in a season or two. It's hard to keep recruited talent if they aren't seeing the field quickly. It's one of the qualities that made Brooks special, he could have entered the portal but waited his turn and is now one of, if not the top RB in the draft.

OTF Video: Predicting the Starting Offense
Question for me is - does Sark start the games with the "explosive" grouping to try to score fast and early and then pound out the time of possession after that, or does he start more "generic" and march down the field trying to wear out the defense first. I'm thinking the former.

Harbaugh
That's the shady part right there, Harbaugh wanting immunity basically screams guilt to me.
