I feared this would become a thing. Iowa state also opted out of their bowl game . ND athletic director also had a press conference revealing a clause that ND would be in the 12 team playoffs next year so long as they were in the top 12.

Really 👀

We should do the same. Why risk injury?!

Hell no

I don't want to say we should treat this like an exhibition, but.... we should sort of treat this like an exhibition. Give Simon 15 carries and see what happens. Play Lockett most of the game. Get Lacey some snaps. That kind of stuff.

Special rules for ND!

I wonder if the SEC gets both us and Bama to cancel the games with ND.

If the SEC/B10 has power in the playoff starting next year and want to get their teams in then you’d think that the two strongest conferences wouldn’t want to give any boost to ND with a win or quality loss.

Grrrr!

Use this game to our benefit for the 2026 season and beyond. This one is over.

Damn! Someone needs to grow a pair and actually say no to ND’s special treatment. If they’re too chickenshit to play a quality schedule, eff them.

Good for them. Personally I’d want the practice time but minor bowls have been a joke since the BCS happened.

Love, love, love it

Irish tears taste like perfectly salted potatoes

The part about them being in the CFP if they’re in the top 12 is utter bullshit though.

Means if they were 12 they’d be in over 11 and 10 in a scenario like this year.

They need to have all SEC schools cancel. ND has 3 games vs SEC in 2028 alone.

This 100%.

It’s wild seeing how many weak minded “fans” are on this board.

notre dames program looks extremely weak pulling this move.

I hope Texas does not oot out for 1 reason and 1 eeason only.  The extra practicws for the younger players and early enrollees will help development.   As far as the CFP that committee should be laughed out of college football

The committee showed this year they they don’t have an issue moving ND a spot (or more) at the last minute. Can’t wait until next year when ND is 12 going into final weekend and end up 13. 🤪
