Glad to see him back on the field + thats 2 years of no wear and tear so may be a blessing in disguise.

NOPE! This Gives Me The Creeps Just Thinking About It.
Just give me a pistol....not the grip. There would have been a lot more ventilation in that helmet by the time i was done.

Experience in the Texas Safety Room | Wednesday 3:30 p.m.
While this group doesnt have a lot of snaps, there is a ton of talent. Hopefully this season will bear that out.

Three themes that have emerged during the first week of Texas camp
When the pads start popping music to my ears will be that the oline was moving the dline off their spots. We all know the Texas defense is going to be a problem, but hopefully that oline will come away with some Ws in camp via the interior run game. Icing on the cake would be Texas getting to game 1 without any serious injjury.

Brooks Austin: Texas Failed Arch lasts. Rips Flood & OL.
I believe EVERYONE including myself had much higher aspirations for last season. The reality is our Oline was not good, but that was far from the only issue. Penalties on both sides of the ball plus ST. Not causing turnovers or allowing first downs in crucial spots. Dropped balls by the wrs. More MEs than you can shake s stick at. The bottom line is the first half of the season was atrocious but the second half of the season showed some of the potential. Point is it was not just a Flood issue. It was a HC issue...it was a PK issue...It was a Banks issue...It was a leadership issue from the players with a C on their chest...It was an across the board problem. The first half of the season Texas looked worse than a modern art masterpiece. There was a lot of growth tho and that should give us all hope for what the upcoming season could and should be.

Mystics have waived Rori Harmon.
I hope she can stick whether its in the wnba or a euro league, but from watching her, she was quite the marshal on the court. Would love it if she came back to Texas to do that, whether its now or way out in the future.

Mystics have waived Rori Harmon.
Either Europe or Sign with Texas as a recruiter/development assistant. She was at least half the heartbeat of Texas on the court. If she were to bring a quarter of that to the coach/development side Id call that a win.

Masunas on the Mackey Award preseason watch list
On the offensive side I think hw will be the suprise, especially in the passing game. Texas has too many weapons and itll leave Masunas on a less athletic linebacker. Probably be number 4 in the you worry me area after all 3 wr and a rb. Plus the fact that he is known as a blocker will catch some off guard and itll be easy for Sark to scheme some open looks.

ESPN ... college football supervillain power rankings
Agreed. Probably one of the worst things that happened in CFB ever. What sticks in my craw though is with how severe these findings were, the NCAA let them off lighter than the death sentence they gave SMU. There seems to be a real crisis in what is deemed important.

ESPN ... college football supervillain power rankings
How did JoPa and Sandusky as well as Conor Stalions not make the list. And UGA says its the state patrol targeting their players.

Six Texas players among Sporting News preseason All-Americans
In the words of the estimable Allen Iverson..we talkin bout practice...not a game...practice Might be a bit early for awards being handed out. No game has been played to see how these dudes look in a game against an unknown oppt + all other factors. Weather, injuries, off field non sense, bad bounces etc. Im in the prove it then hand out the medals.

Bold Predictions
DE's opposite Colin Simmons will have 20 Sacks combined. Texas as a team will rank better than 30th in penalties. Texas TEs will have 7+ receiving TDs Mosley will rank top 20 in catches for 1st downs. Texas will have be a top 50 for RBs with yards between the tackles.

Friday Team notes: WR
Texas needs to jump out early in games they have a very distinct advantage. Get the younger giys minutes and thus experience to build on next year. The other vital part here is it is a long season and any time you can get your starters a break to save those legs for late season pushes the better off they will be. It's win win

Athlon's ranks SEC by tiers
There are a lot of "ifs" on this list. How quickly does LSU take to buy in to Kiffins system, and how does Ole Miss fill the void for the guys that bailed and went to Louisiana are huge questions? Does Sellers have a reliable weapon or 2 and does the Oline hold up enough to keep him off his back? Miss St and a dynamic QB has the potential to jump up and steal a few wins in games they have no business being competitive in. UF and how much does the new staff get out of a talented roster? UGA is the stand alone 1, and Texas still has a lot of prove it with a rebuilt Oline and a new coord for the defense. Tenn Okla and ATM all have talent but there are still a lot of question marks. Ok has not produced at a high level on offense under the current staff and strength on one side of the ball os not enough in the SEC. Tenn has been so up and down that its hard to have high expectations and ATM has not fared well against teams that their roster talent should be blowing out. My dark horse to compete for an SEC champ is Missouri. Drinkwitz seems to always get the best out his roster. If they fare well in the first couple of games itll put everyone else on notice.Just a few opinions. Bama is another that jas a great coach but has underperformed the last few seasons. Vandy without Pavia and the grit and grime attitude is going to be back to what everyone expects Vandy to be. Inexperienced and short on weapons.

Jonathon Brooks Back in Pads
Good to aee him on his feet again. Hope he still has that get up and go. If je does there was a lot of tread that was saved.

The SEC & Big 10 are on the clock, according to...
Definitely kill it. You can not punish the 2 conferences that have kept college sports afloat. Further not every school can afford the price tag that has been associated with this bill. Who is going to make up the difference? Federal or state govt.? Hiking already bloated tuition or per class costs?

Texas has developed a knack for coming up big in rivalry games under Steve Sarkisian
How much has those wins translated to recruiting? Against Blow U Id wager that its helped in the DFW area, and againt little bro atm the Houston area. Hopefully a W against LSU will help in Houston as well and possibly in the Bayous of Louisiana.

Coffee and Football Special Guests Lineup
Cat Osterman KD TJ Ford Haley Eckerman Always like to hear from Mack B Kelvin Banks Spread over a few different sports. Curious what they think about Texas athletics trajectory.

Save College Sports Act
Im not against a bill that reigns schools in. I am however against all schools are equal. Texas brings in significantly more than Baylor for example. It should be tiered. The other issue I have is limiting actual NIL because some players are highly valued and will push this cap way over. You can not restrict a player on how much they can earn. By this way of thinking it would be a detriment to other players on the team. For example Arch, Simmons, Cam, Wingo, and Goosby will probably equal 70% or more. Where would that leave guys like Biles, D Will, Mosely etc.
-
Reason For DC Switch?
PK was a good coach, but he always played not to loose. Muschamp is a championship level DC. He plays to win. You have to be willing to take calculated risks and put your players in the position to win.

Royal announcing 7/29, his birthday.
Hoped for 2 5 star HS recruits in Sales and Royal...as of now 1 in the boat, but likely flipping so probably none. Texas will have a boatload of excess cash with Cam, Wingo, Arch, Simmons, and Goosby highly likely to go pro, so they will be able to keep the players on this roster that they want. With Sark and friends they will probably turn lemons into lemonade and find a gem none of us thought Texas had interest in.

Players at Media Days under Sark
What are the biggest area/s of improvement did you see and what needs to be improved?? For me Arch throwing layered passes as opposed to rockets to everyone. I think thats part of the worm dirt searches he had a hard time with. Patience for Arch instead of quick bail, and communication for the oline. Defense would be just let the game come to you. By doing this, everyone gets the opportunity to chip in and the rest of the stats will come.
-
Comparing Ryan Wingo to DeVonta Smith Statistically
I love the combo of Cam and Wingo, but the dude that has the highest likelihood of catching that many passes is Mosely if he can stay healthy. He wasnt healthy long enough last year to see what his YAC is. ANY way it goes itll be fun to watch.

This is very well done … SEC & the Manning’s
I dont know if thats the SEC standard or the Mannings upped the ante.

'We weren't physical enough': Trevor Goosby on the offensive line's role in reviving the Texas running game
Goosbys response is good, tho there were other issues that are well documented here. Penalties, Mental Errors, Leadership (which has me curious whose gonna be the guy here) and owning and fixing the issues as the season went along (Flood has to be more impactful here) to name a few.
