We’re officially 26 days away from Texas football, so today we’re looking back at some of the best Longhorns to wear No. 26. Johnny “Lam” Jones headlines this group. The Olympic gold medalist was a two-time All-American, two-time All-SWC selection and Texas’ 1978 team MVP before becoming the No. 2 overall pick in the 1980 NFL Draft. D.J. Monroe brought some serious speed to the number during his time on the Forty Acres. Monroe finished with 2,620 all-purpose yards and still owns the Texas record with three career kickoff-return touchdowns. And Marcus Griffin rounds out the group. A member of the 2005 National Championship team, Griffin finished his Texas ca…

When PK was hired, I read a good article on his defensive style and terminology. Has anyone seen a thread or article on the defense Muschamp runs today and the terminology he uses? I keep hearing Bobby and the other OTF personalities referring to something called an overhang linebacker. I'm not familiar with that term.

Does anyone in OTF know Bill? At one time, he was in the top 5 of LHF donors and had an East Side 50-yard line suite. He was my little brother in my fraternity, and I have not been able to get a hold of him. Last time he retired my email and texts was last fall. I'm not sure if he belonged to OTF. I know he did have an account over at IT at one time or another. Thanks!

Hi Longhorn nation! Drop your Longhorn memorabilia in the thread here. I'm 27 so just getting started, but I'll start. Acquired some new ones between the two images but, A Ricky signed jersey with "HT 98" and a VY signed jersey. I've got the Colt Mccoy signed picture as well. The 3 frames on the wall were sent by the University after I wrote them a letter in grade school for a school project! 2 of them are trading cards maybe? that I just kept together and framed and the other is a picture with the entire 2009 team, signed by all the players. Feel grateful and lucky to acquire these, thank you for sharing below!

Colt was a sniper during his time here. Arch has been to every Manning passing Academy since 5, yet he struggles with the 5 to 10 yard pass. Why? What is he doing wrong? If he is able to solve this riddle, he will be in NYC!

I’m sure the majority of evaluations are the eye test during practice sessions , and film study of practices. More specifically OL evaluations. Full contact 11 on 11, can get pretty congested and hard to read in real time. I’m sure this is where film study is most important. Was wondering how much coaches listen to opposing position players input. Hey Gefrard, January, or Hero, “ which one of these guards appear to be the strongest, which one is hardest to get around or through, which one is hardest to get off their block, etc… Same for WR vs DB’s. Any coaches on here???

I would love for ALL OTF members to participate in this. We will be unveiling our Top 25 Horns of the modern era (1992-2025) in a couple of days, but I want to do a fan vote for the Top 10. Please go to this link and record your responses. No registration required.... just be sure to submit your answers! https://forms.gle/zFmAXzFRHLujFvCy8 Please remember that this is ONLY since 1992. No answers before then will be counted. The 1992 season marked the start of college football's modern era due to structural shifts in television revenue, the rise of super-conferences, inaugural championship games, and the first coordinated attempts to match the nati…

I see Camara is wearing #1 at Gilmer for media day. I’ve also seen him catching passes during practice. Are they really going to play him at TE this season? If so that’s doesn’t make me feel great about his development track. @Gerry Hamilton

The Texas DL commit plans to be in Austin for Texas-Ohio State on Sept. 12. This is the only visit he has planned. I asked if he's looking at visiting any other programs this fall and he simply replied with a "hook 'em"

Look, I have never been on the fire Coach Flood bus, but Brook Austin exposes some real concerning OL play. Especially late in the season. If Cole Hutson is the best option we have at LG, God help us. Texas Failed Arch Manning Last Year

Hate to see injuries like this in training camp. Southern Cal’s starting center had a season ending injury a few days ago. Every day that Texas does not have an injury report like this is a win for me, regardless of position battles, good plays, bad plays, etc.
