  2. ...watching the post NC Championship interviews, the players are humble, polite, love their coach, talk about their standards, etc. Coach Day doesn't appear to be a jackass a'la Nick Saban. This game is going to be a nailbiter. Hopefully, special teams don't blow it.

  3. We are down to just six days before the Horns head to Columbus to square off against the Buckeyes. Who’s your favorite No. 6 to play for Texas? Some options today include… Quan Cosby Devin Duvernay Quandre Diggs Quentin Jammer Ryan Watts Randy McEachern

I know some folks can be intimidated by the longer threads, but Dia Bell led a 31-point comeback win for his team last night. Quite the performance.

I’ve heard from someone who’s been around him in a team environment (verified via MaxPreps) that he tended to lean on his natural talent rather than grinding through extra work or playing through minor issues. That being said, things can definitely change now that he’s in college and surrounded by a different level of coaching and teammates. Sometimes that’s exactly what flips the switch for a young player. The talent is there, it just might come down to maturity and environment. I’d much rather be wrong about him, because all I want is to see him succeed. Curious if anyone else has heard similar things, or if this is more of an isolated perception.

  11. This story is an excerpt from the book "American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback," which will be available on Sept. 9 from Disney Publishing's Hyperion Avenue. SENIOR NIGHT AT Isidore Newman School in Uptown New Orleans. Class of '23. A warm October sunset. A tunnel of cheerleaders under the lights, with a line of football players waiting to have their names announced and to meet their parents at midfield, and little surprise over who will be called first. He's in full uniform, wearing a kelly green jersey, with a white number 16. He stands, slightly tilting back and forth, waiting. The field is bright and clean. He turns to his coach beside him. …

  12. What is your favorite all time episode? Mine is the one with Tony Hills and he talks about watching Gladiator before a game and he better not ever catch anyone watching Love Island. I need to see if I can go find it.

  13. My prediction for the 2026 Texas Longhorns football schedule is as follows: September 5th - vs Texas State September 12th - vs Ohio State September 19th - vs UTSA September 26th - another home non-con game, maybe Rice or UNT October 3rd - @ Mississippi October 10th - Oklahoma in Dallas October 17th - @ Missouri October 24th - Bye Week October 31st - vs Tennessee November 7th - @ Arkansas November 14th - @ LSU November 21st - vs South Carolina November 27th - @ Texas A&M I feel pretty good about most of this. Because of when the 2026 season starts, most teams will only have one bye wee…

  14. So I've been working on this for the last few weeks and I must say I'm pretty excited about what I've put together. For the last couple of years we've had numerous people ask about doing a high school football show during football season. It's something that I kicked around with Bobby, but never actively pursued until now. Beginning next week, we will have a weekly show that is all about Texas High School Football called "The Fieldhouse" and each week we'll discuss some of the state's biggest games, the players, storylines and we'll even focus on Texas commit performances as well. It's the lineup that has me super excited, however. I'll be hosting, but I'll…

  15. Looks good tonight.,,scored TD, speed translating well. Showed a great block in backfield

  16. We are now just eight days away from the Longhorns opening the season against Ohio State in Columbus. Who is your favorite Texas player to wear No. 8? Some options today include… Jordan Shipley Cedric Griffin Van Malone Trey Moore Ricky Churchman Rob Moerschell

  17. I saw where the former RB coach at Duncanville is going to my alma mater South Garland. Anyone know about his coaching ability? @Gerry Hamilton may know something. I know he used to play there in high school and was a pretty good player from what I recall. He's also hired Cedric Dockery as the offensive line coach so that will be awesome I'm sure.

  18. 25 days in the books and I couldn’t have done it without all of your support… except @Joe Zura.

Figured it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have an open thread with all of the fallout from CS. I’m seeing too many tweets to not keep posting them 😂

  20. Coach Shipley getting the crowd rolling here in Dallas! 🙂

  21. DraftKings has dropped the line in the Texas-Ohio State to a point and a half in favor of the Buckeyes. The original opening line had the Buckeyes as 3-point favorites. That has since been chopped in half. The over/under for this game remains 47.5.

  22. AUSTIN, Texas — There was a time when Steve Sarkisian couldn’t take Texas on the road and buy a win. After traveling to Boone Pickens Stadium and dropping a 41-34 decision to No. 11 Oklahoma State on Oct. 22, 2022, Sarkisian’s road record as coach of the Longhorns stood at an abysmal 1-6. While Bijan Robinson churning out 216 yards on a career-high 35 carries in a win over TCU in Fort Worth accounted for Sarkisian’s only victory through his first six true road games on the job, things haven’t been the same since the loss in Stillwater. That’s the last time Texas lost a true road game, establishing the longest active road winning streak in the country after last …
