While I have been critical of QE there was none of last nights game that was on him. WR dropped multiple passes, Sark called arguably one of the worst red zone series in Texas recent memory, the defense gave up a 75 yard screen pass for a TD. No Quinn was not perfect but he played more than well enough for Texas to win.

Is Texas looking at Vodney Cleveland as well for the same type big body run stuffer?

I agree with that statement, however the difference between winning and losing comes down to much smaller margins bow that Texas is playing better teams. Every small advantage/disadvantage is magnified.

31-28....unfortunately I think the Longhorns lose this one in a Heartbreaker. 2 misses FGs will be the difference.

Actually what I was trying to say is we have not to this point played to potential. Further we have been undisciplined with MEs making what should be easier games difficult. It just about cost us against ASU, and did cost us against UGA. I would say that this season has been a success, but to this juncture an unmitigated success is a stretch. That's not to say unmitigated is unattainable because there is at least 1 more game to be played.

While I agree with most of what you said, I would have liked to see a more consistent offense with an identity. IMHO Texas has the most experienced and top to bottom best offensive line. There have been quite a few games that I was scratching my head at the issues there specifically picking up blitzes. I've also been perplexed at some of the play calling. There have been way to many 3 and outs and turnovers in our own end of the field. That has added extra pressure on the defense that should not have been there. It was glaring in the ASU game. Further it's been frustrating with the procedure penalties that have put us behind the chains. We have not played a complete 4 quarter all phases game thos year. While we won those games minus UGA, it was because of the talent gap mostly with some luck sprinkled in. I'll give credit that Texas has played when they had to. All I'm saying is it sure would be nice if they played to potential. I am critical but I'm also a fan. I'm proud of this team but I don't think they have been their best yet this year. Hopefully the next 2 games will shut me up. Hook Em

I hope he is, but I'd bet he needs a little time to put on a little mass and to learn the d as well. Simmons is a rare gem like Banks that is next level ready right of the bat. Time will tell.

How do you define success. Yes one more game in the W column but more games played as well. The top 4 is where Texas finished last year, and if they do not win the next game they finish at the same spot. Don't get me wrong I am glad to see Texas in the top 4 again and it's huge for recruiting, and it illustrates Texas consistency in development...Success is a good debate tho vs expectations.

I have been very critical of QE, however he played about as well as you could have wanted him to play in the most critical moments in that game. There has definitely been a disconnect with QE and Sark as far as playcalling and putting his offense in the best position to succeed. Just my 2 cents. Hook Em.

Not to get off subject but I went to the UIL Championship Saturday games. I was most impressed with N Crowley. This is the second time I've seen them this year. It's like they are Lightning McQueen and everyone else is Mater.....likely the fastest team top to bottom I've ever seen at the HS level. Impressive

Man I'm not usually one to call out officials, but this is about as clear as it gets. Targeting call, no call on a fumble, bogus PI×2....I hope they don't allow these refs to call another game. This is what I would expect from the big12

I was concerned with this unit after the spring game...needless to say hats off to the entire defensive staff, on field leadership, and defensive unit. It's the best I can recall ever seeing this side of the ball perform period. Need the offense and special teams to hold up their end. Hook Em

That doesn't make me feel any better. There needs to be an accountability department and for stuff this aggregious they need to withhold salary for this.

After watching a few of the SEC games today the officiating is pretty reminiscent of the Big12....that sure don't make me feel very good.

How much has QE performance this season overall cost him in draft equity? Hurt twice, hasn't looked great with the deep pass, escape routes, bad habits throwing off the back foot etc. Not the development youf expect from a 3rd year starter. Hope he does well and shows a jump in the next game and the CFP should we make it.
