Official OTF 2025 NFL Draft live thread
Didn’t the issue happen in the Dallas area? That makes it more difficult from a PR perspective to take a chance on him. He needs to go somewhere like KC or Buffalo.

NCAA Transfer Portal Entrant Thread (Thursday AM)
Under Sark 5 stars are developing and getting on the field in the 1st 2 years which is why I don’t see a need for a portal db when you have talent ready to get in the rotation.

NCAA Transfer Portal Entrant Thread (Thursday AM)
I get it but safety is a position where it shouldn’t take top talent 3 years to get in the rotation. I want to see the young bucks get in the rotation this year so they are ready for a bigger/starting role next year. I’m expecting Jonah along with 1 of the year 2 guys to be in the rotation and play well next year. Why recruit 5 star talent if you are going to bring in experienced players that block them from the rotation so they hit the portal. Not to mention that’s a lot of NIL money sitting on the bench.

NCAA Transfer Portal Entrant Thread (Thursday AM)
There’s too much experience and talent in the safety room to take one in the portal. It’s really down to just DL, edge, and kr/pr unless there’s more attrition. I only say edge because they brought in the kid from Stanford and jones (I think) from FSU. So they seem to be looking for a difference maker at that spot.

Nico & Tennessee…
Alabama also has 5 star freshmen Keelon Russell who is competing for the starting job. I don’t see Nico going there. I would hope his agent already had a deal in place for him that’s better than his current deal. If he didn’t he should get fired asap.

Baxter injury update ?
Tre had 1k yards in the SEC in his 1st year getting significant reps. Good luck finding a better back out of the spring portal window where intra SEC xfers have to sit a year. Also you have a new rb coach so what signal do you think it sends to the room if he goes after RBs in the portal. Choice didn’t think there was a need. I’m only saying this because that’s what other schools will use along with NIL to get guys to jump in the portal. An injury doesn’t mean a player won’t risk the portal. It’s not really that big of a risk if the NIL deal is in place before the player goes in.

Baxter injury update ?
I just don’t see it as a high priority given what’s still in the room. Bringing in a proven rb also increases the likelihood 1-2 jump in the portal. I’d rather the staff focus on other positions where there’s less returning production.

NFL Network Projects Eight Longhorns In First Three Rounds
It would be a good sport for him but as a Cowboys fan this would suck. Hoping he lands with the Cowboys or Ravens.

Where members of the No. 1 Texas signing landed in the final 2025 rankings from 247Sports and ESPN
Lack of an athletic period at public schools. Some private schools have one. I’ve seen a few examples of what happens after 2-3 months in a college strength and conditioning program. 10-12lbs of good weight on some DBs. It wasn’t just the weight. They were also more explosive in drills. So I get why Gerry is high on him. I still think Lockett will be the better player.

Zelus Hicks
Yeah looks like he enrolled in the summer. My mistake.

Zelus Hicks
Ryan Williams did it last year so it’s possible.

If they want to keep him they better add talent around him.

College Football Playoff: Six SEC teams for four spots
Good discussion. To me If Indiana losses to OSU they are out. I think it’s that simple given they won’t have a win over Oregon, OSU, or Penn St to make up for a weak non-conference schedule.

Prime in Big D??
I’m sure Deon is grateful his name is being mentioned as that usually results in a nice raise. That said, no way this happens. Deon and Jerry prob both know it wouldn’t work.

Prob every coffee and football this week. He called OU’s QB situation as well.

Does Griffin to UGA boost our odds for Justus Terry?
If he is visiting does that mean Texas is willing to match what UGA and Auburn are offering?

Two Tuesday evening recruiting nuggets (6pm CST)
In that scenario if he called and wanted to commit do you think the staff would say no? Now that scenario wouldn’t happen anyway for a few reasons but the staff would absolutely take the commitment.

Two Tuesday evening recruiting nuggets (6pm CST)
I don’t think it’s likely but you never know. Sometimes as the date gets closer kids don’t want to move that far away from home. Or they get homesick and hit the portal. Maintaining a good relationship important.

You recruit DK until signing day period. That doesn’t mean you don’t pursue other elite wr but you don’t give up on that guy. He’s a perfect fit.

Defensive Recruiting
What I'm telling you is it’s too early to panic about recruiting and overall roster management. Last year people were freaking out over DB and WR recruiting around this time and look how that worked out.

Defensive Recruiting
Ole Miss currently has the 35th ranked class per on3 with 3 4 star recruits. It’s still too early to judge and I still think it’s likely Texas ends up with a top 5 class.

Oklahoma Sooners QB
He also has a Dad who can be difficult to deal with and that’s putting it nicely.

Jordon Davison Top 4 Revealed
I think you should tap the brakes on that. He’s just looking for the best opportunity to play early and there is nothing wrong with that. You can’t fault kids for not wanting to wait a year or two to get significant playing time.

Damonic Williams runs to PRIMETIME?
I don’t think that’s true. Travis Hunter would definitely be a culture fit. Most of the others don’t fit from a talent standpoint not culture.
