Wanted to create a thread to keep a tally on portal entrants ahead of the Portal officially opening on April 16.

Just some names that have entered that either had Texas ties previously, or would make sense given what we know about the ensuing hunt in the portal to fill the 2025 roster.

Right down the road in San Marcos. Former All-Sun Belt selection.

WVU DL Amir Leonard-Jean Charles entered the portal. He visited Texas a handful of times during last year's cycle.

The former Boise State DL Braxton Fely has the production (14 solo tackles, 5.5 sacks) but don't know if Texas would be interested because his size listed at 6'1 296lbs

It will be interesting to see how this works out. We have two kickers on scholarship, but will obviously be in the market for one. Maybe we'll trade kickers with Texas State.

That would be the red flag for me. Texas has only targeted guys that are 6'4+ this cycle. Lole last year was the shortest DL at 6'3"

Side question - What percentage of the time are you right about Texas portal entries?

Are we looking at about 8 additions? We're -4 now on scholarships, and another 4 or so would be expected to portal out.

Just typing out loud... 2 TEs, 1 WR, 1 DT, 1 kicker. I suppose if an all-conference type RT were to fall into our laps we'd take that. We'd also take a Keilan Robinson clone at RB. That's seven.

I could see 2 WR before 2 TE.

This would have been the perfect year for a Silas Bolden-type add at the WR room (plus a vet). A guy who can double in the return game as well while giving you 5-15 snaps per game depending on situation.

Nico is supposedly a portal candidate for Tennessee if they don’t get NIL right (per On3)

Not CJ but the short list will probably be something like this:

Malik Agbo
Connor Stroh
Jaydon Chatman
Connor Robertson(if Cruz passes him up for center)
Aaron Butler
Maybe one of the kickers or punters, since we have 4 on scholarship(not that numbers matter considering we're under 85).

We could be under and give out some scholarships for the year to walk ons!

Yes, I believe two offensive lineman, one defensive line, receiver, and DB.
