Watch 2027 5-star PG Beckham Black live right now on NBA.com (Youtube)
I know height matters in rankings so you are most likely right but it’s fun watching him prove he’s the best right now. @Gerry Hamilton another name to watch in the ‘29 class is Reggie Evans Jr. Son of a former NBA player who has made a big jump the past year. Has a chance to be the top player in the 29 class .

Watch 2027 5-star PG Beckham Black live right now on NBA.com (Youtube)
Cayden Daughtry just dropped 42 pts. Texas offered but not sure the interest was there on either side. Special talent. He’s making the case to be #1 overall in ‘27.

Texas Roster: Who Becomes All-Conference in 2026? | Wednesday 11:00 a.m.
Jelani McDonald. Believe he had 3 ints last year and with the new scheme he has a chance to get 4+ this year.

He has visited Miami and they will fight to the end to get him.

Question for Sark next Presser:
If I recall correctly there was an offensive player who gambled and never played again at Texas. Personally I don’t think it would be smart to share how players are disciplined at a press conference. Those things should be handled internally.

Yeah and 2 of the stronger receivers (Wingo and Mosley) are recovering from surgery.

Portal of Possibilities
College football heading down the same path as college basketball. Sucks for high school kids.

Key note (7:20pm CT)
I’ve seen this posted a few times but I’m not sure anything has changed. I can’t recall a player who actually entered the portal coming back. There have been a few that have declared they were going in and changed their mind. Last year Sydir Mitchell announced he was going in and then decided not to and ultimately ended up going in. That said I think there will always be exceptions.

New Portal Entry Likely (Friday 7:34 am) | UPDATE: Wisner Enters Portal
In 2024 he was 3rd in the SEC in rushing with 1k yards avgeraging 4.7 ypc. His numbers were down this year partly due to injury and the oline. I’m not arguing whether or not he is worth 1 mil as I don’t know what the going rate is for a rb with his production. I trust the coaches decision and I wish him the best. I do think 2 starter level backs are needed from the portal for next season to get through a tough schedule. I also think it’s going to be difficult to get 2 of that caliber.

New Portal Entry Likely (Friday 7:34 am) | UPDATE: Wisner Enters Portal
I wish Wisner finished his career as a longhorn but I think it’s too early to say he made a bad choice. Let’s see where he lands and how much he gets. He could also go into the draft and if he doesn’t find what he is looking for in the portal. I also think rb1 vs rb2 is overrated in the SEC. You need multiple capable rbs to get thru the schedule. It’s going to be tough to get 2 starter level running backs out of the portal so I hope 1-2 of the young backs step up.

Little update on Jadan Baugh (7:05 CT)
Yes Florida can afford him and I doubt they lose arguably their best player over NIL.

If Bama is excluded
You are probably right but this is another bad loss for them and when comparing resumes to Texas they should fall below. If the game was competitive I would feel differently but they got dominated

It’s been said here and other sites
I think the biggest issue is expecting guys like Neto in year 4 to be a better option than an experienced player out of the portal. I don’t get how you watch him in practice for 4 years and expect him to start and a week before the season starts he gets beat out by someone who also isn’t ready to contribute. As much as it’s been discussed, I don’t think there’s any scheme changes or changes in play calling that will make this a playoff team. The rest of this season is more about evaluating players and coaches. Changes are needed and a real GM might be a good place to start.

Alfred Collins
Big time play. On a separate note, I’ve noticed head contact when attempting to punch the ball out more this year than I have in the past. Not sure if it’s happening more frequently or I’m just noticing it more due to Texas players being involved. It’s dangerous and I think college and pro football should do something about it before a player gets seriously hurt. It already cost Deandre Moore a game.

Injury update after No. 7 Texas' 38-7 win over San Jose State
It’s crazy to think people are analyzing him grimacing on a throw and drawing conclusions about it. This is football and it’s usually obvious when a QB is injured and shouldn’t be out there. Quinn wasn’t 100% in quite a few games the past 2 years and he played thru it when he could and sat out when necessary. People need to stop overanalyzing and trust the coaches and trainers.

Thoughts on what happened to No. 1 Texas in a 14-7, season-opening loss to No. 3 Ohio State
Why Is DeBoer included but not Dabo? I think DeBoer is a really good coach but he hasn’t won a championship and he hasn’t done enough yet to be considered elite.

I did and I won’t do that again. Great comeback.

"Deion Sanders proposes something that is already being adopted"
I think Deon knows there are teams who continue to operate as if the cap doesn’t exist. If all teams don’t follow the same rules there is no cap.

Couple of afternoon recruiting notes (3:19 CT)
$$$$ is the number 1 factor in recruiting now. There are exceptions but most will take the extra money assuming it’s significant to the recruit / family.

OV note on 4-star+ RB K.J. Edwards (Tuesday 10:45am CST)
If he doesn’t shuffle visits around so Texas gets a wknd visit I think the odds of him ending up at Texas are low.
