So are we done with the portal now?

They “might” look for another pitcher.

They like the pitchers they just signed but we may have to sweat out the draft on some of them.

Aiden Moffett has also looked good in summer league in relief. 4 appearances, 5.1 innings pitched, 1.69 ERA, allowed one hit with 10 K’s and 3 BB.

Here is Moffett from a few days ago.

How about this for a lineup:

  1. 2B Ethan Mendoza
  2. LF Aiden Robbins
  3. DH Kaleb Freeman
  4. C Carson Tinney
  5. RF Jack Moroknek
  6. 3B Adrian Rodriguez
  7. CF Jonah Williams
  8. SS Temo Becerra
  9. 1B Josh Livingston / 1B-3B Casey Borba

Pretty gnarly group right there.

In 2025 he hit .348, with 17 HR, 53 RBIs, 13 doubles, 34 BB, 40 SO, and a OPS of 1.251

Great pickup.  He led the team in hitting, HRs, RBIs, total bases, BBs, slugging percentage, on base percentage, etc. and did not lead the team in Ks.

This looks like a team that might compete in AA if it did not have to play every day.

That is what SEC ball is all about, however.

Blake,

When do the freshman baseball players report for school?  Do they arrive for the 2nd session of summer school?

Was waiting on this (he committed yesterday) before posting more baseball notes…. So I’ll have some more soon.

Am I paying for discretion, confidentiality, common sense, and the long game to keep sources? Hello to the no! I should have been on the call or zoom or gmeet or in the office, etc.

Did I do it right?

ARod's gonna have to prove he can catch a ground ball on the regular before he gets the nod at 3B

I noticed that too. He’s either a troll or too old to know what emojis he’s clicking 😂

Softball got a natty after adding someone from ND.  Hopefully the same follows for baseball

I want another IF and pitchers!!! Not sure how good borba can be for us next year

Borba has room for improvement no doubt. I think Borba just needs to be in a competition battle which looks like he could be with A Rod again but A Rod will hopefully have a healed hand and an offseason with the staff.
