Welcome to OTF! I hope you enjoy watching Raleek Brown and Hollywood Smothers just as much this year. Let’s have a heck of a year!

Nice 3–0 winner to start the campaign. Congrats to Coach Bates!

very possible that's the case. Helps having a Best RB in the Country award in your pocket as a junior. Heisman would have been absolutely in play.

Just need that talent to take the necessary steps forward over the next three weeks. Scrimmages are going to be so very important.

Body development and other bodies in the room have him buried a bit. Need to see some acceleration improvement. But again, young for his second year.

Think some plans are being finalized here soon. Not sure on release date, but we are working on something!

The first scrimmage on Saturday is going to be massive to see which member of Blake Gideon's room takes a step forward. Career snaps for safeties in the Texas secondary: 1,213 career snaps – Jelani McDonald 699 career snaps – Derek Williams Jr. 309 career snaps – Kobe Black* 71 career snaps – Jonah Williams 144 career snaps – Jordon Johnson Rubell 6 career snaps – Zelus Hicks 0 career snaps – Toray Davis 0 career snaps – Yaheim Riley 2025 Snaps 793 snaps – Jelani McDonald 204 snaps – Derek Williams Jr. 199 snaps – Kobe Black* 66 snaps – Jordon Johnson Rubell 71 snaps – Jonah Williams 6 snaps – Zelus Hicks * Kobe Black has 2 career snaps at the safety position per PFF. § worth noting Xavier Filsaime saw 293 snaps in 2025 while in the safety room. He is now working at nickel. **** But altogether, the point is this – outside of McDonald and Williams Jr., someone is going to need to take a step forward over the next three weeks. It is the No. 1 question remaining for me during the Longhorns fall camp.

This was my top 15: Vince Young Ricky Williams Colt McCoy Derrick Johnson Bijan Robinson Brian Orakpo Michael Huff Cedric Benson Kelvin Banks Casey Hampton T’Vondre Sweat D'Onta Foreman Jahdae Barron Byron Murphy Aaron Ross

I've long said I will do whatever I can to remain on the same side of an argument as Amanda for this exact reason lol

The week two Ohio State–Texas visitors list will continue to grow as the month of August continues, and Tuesday saw another massive visitor added. 2028 Lanier (Jackson, MS) DL Geraci Carson will be heading to Austin for the Ohio State game. Carson was last on campus May 31st for the Longhorns Elite Camp where he was one of the last prospects on campus to depart. Texas is very high on the 6-foot-4.5-inch, 330-pound defensive lineman. LSU and Ole Miss are two others to keep an eye on in this recruitment. ESPN has Carson ranked as the No. 2 player in the country, and it would not surprise me to see a sub-50 national ranking across the industry composite when it is all said and done for Carson. After seeing him in person back in May, I can definitively say he was one of the most physically impressive prospects I have seen in person.

I wanted so badly for Chris Warren to be one of the next RBU greats.

You don't have an extra $1,284,298.48 lying around for two tickets vs. Ohio State in the 300 section? /s lol

lol, that would attract a lively crowd for when it hits on the exact corner!

With that said, I had Sweat #11 and Murphy #14.

I'm a bit different on it. Sweat played five seasons, with 230+ snaps in all five years. He logged 700+ more snaps career wise than Murphy. Not to mention the physical presence of a 370-pound interior defensive lineman allowed for Murphy to see minimal double teams in comparison.

The mask is off, the real name is revealed!

I couldn't help but laugh.

I can't say I remember. They haven't had a board like this outside the stadium that I have noticed after games. At least none that were on. I think it would be sweet to run the game highlights on the boards after wins as folks leave the stadium.

New feature to DKR that I hinted at last week. A major video board was added to the outside of the southwest corner of DKR. I would assume this will add some flair to the Bevo Blvd pregame.

Sarkisian says he is starting to hear more and more from Derek Williams in the safety room. Mentioned Jonah Williams as well. Sark says it is a prerequisite for his safeties to speak — and that comes from Muschamp. The practice in DKR had crowd noise cranked all the way up, with emphasis on signals, as well as vocal comms.

“I think the team responds really well to Arch.”

Ty’Anthony Smith “flashed more today than in any practice” says Sarkisian
