Not sure why everyone is writing off Pack in CF. It’s his natural position and guys do get better. Adrian Rodriguez proved a lot of people wrong this season playing SS. Lugo didn’t play CF at Campbell his freshman year. But we should have options next year. Pack has been playing CF for the Collegiate National Team. Here is a nice play.

Lugo is 5’9” and 185 lbs per the Campbell baseball site.

Texas was leading 34-10 going into the 4th qtr and our defense gave up 3 TDs in the 4th. Vandy had TD drives of 77, 67 and 89 yards. This wasn’t on the offense.

Following the game The Dallas Times Herald (the other newspaper in Dallas at the time) went with the headline: “Roosevelt Leaks All Over The Field”.

Pretty sure they had assurances last year also. The MLB draft is this weekend so it won’t take long to find out if he gets drafted. Last year Moroknek committed to Texas on June 12, 2025 and Freeman committed on June 14….a full month before the draft.

Walls could be a starter or reliever. He might be able to close. Two starters should be Volantis and Cozart. Other starter candidates beside Walls include: Winter, RHP Crossland, RHP Kaleb Rogers, RHP Jack McKernan, LHP Jason Flores, RHP (portal candidate but would love to see him harness that 98 MPH fastball) Maybe another current freshman or 2 might be ready. And that doesn’t include the incoming freshman pitchers that could start or relieve. There could be 7 freshman pitchers or more make it to campus once the MLB draft is done.

Why are they asking a federal court if they can invoke their own bylaws?

I wish the high school coaches would have walked out of the room when McGuire started speaking. McGuire and TT just jeopardized the integrity of their sport.

Ethan Walker hasn’t started a game this season and has lasted 2 innings twice which were his longest outings. He has only thrown over 20 pitches 3 different times this season. he has pitched a a total of 15 innings in 20 appearances for the season and has given up 19 hits (including 4 doubles and a HR), 3 walks, hit a batter and opponents are hitting .306 against him for the season. He is a situational pitcher (the fewer the situations the better) and has pitched 3 times since May 5th for a grand total of 1 inning. He recorded one out in each of those 3 games.

It’s hard to believe that Moreland was a freshman in 1972…same as me. I believe he played on the freshman football team at UT in 1972 and then baseball in the spring of 1973. I scheduled my spring classes around baseball games when they were played at the old Clark Field. Besides Moreland, pitchers Jim Gideon, Richard Wortham and Martin Flores I remember on the 1973 team. The 1973 and 1974 teams were damn good and made the College World Series. Disch-Falk field opened in 1975 and the Moreland led Texas team won the College World Series. I loved old Clark Field just north of the football stadium (I believe the performing arts building is there now.. It had a limestone wall in the outfield. There was a hill/ramp in CF for outfielders to retrieve baseballs that stayed up there. It was known as Billy Goat Hill. I’ve always been a Moreland fan and he is a great baseball announcer.

Still seems odd to have your top HR hitters hitting at the top of the order. Guaranteed that Robbins has no one on base to start the game.

Agree. It wasn’t pretty but Burns has closer type stuff. Hopefully he can build on this.

Cozart went 4 innings last Tuesday against Lamar but only threw 54 pitches.

He has thrown 73 pitches thru 4 innings. Not sure how many more pitches, if any, they let him throw.

Robbins 2 out HR in the top of the first. Texas 1-0.

@CJ Vogel @Blake Munroe I probably missed it but I didn’t hear anything about Robbins hitting for the cycle on Saturday. It’s pretty rare. The last time a Texas player hit for the cycle was 2015. Not sure how many Texas players have accomplished this. Texas won 3-1 and Robbins had 2 RBI’s and scored a run on his HR. No other player had an RBI as our only other run scored on a passed ball.
