There’s a lot of glory and praise to give God in that story. 
 

Happy for both of you that it worked out so well. Our kids mean the world to us; it’s not even describable.

Wow, what an inspiration. Thanks for sharing that Blake. I’m so sorry to hear how dire that situation was, but man it is amazing and so encouraging to hear the faith you all had in God through such an intense trial.

Jeez, @Blake Munroe, I knew it was serious from what was shared here and on C&F, but I have no idea how y'all got through that ordeal with such stoicism.

Thanks for posting this Blake. Back during your ordeal with your son I knew it was a serious situation but I didn't realize just how serious it was.

I live 20 miles SW of downtown Fort Worth and since I'm retired I walk several miles a day six days a week.

Almost every day while I'm out walking on the hike and bike trails near Benbrook Lake I notice the Careflite helicopters flying from the Southwest to the Fort Worth Medical District where Cook's Children's Hospital is located. Just last weekend I saw the Careflite helicopter flying faster than normal on a beeline to the Northeast. I thought "this one must be serious" and held a brief thought and prayer.

Now that I have read about your son Colt I have an even greater appreciation for those flights and all the caring people involved and all the medical professionals at the hospitals in the Medical District.

Awesome stuff man. God is great, and you and your wife are clearly great parents to have raised a son like Colt. Very happy that y’all are in a better place now after the medical scares. 

That got me all in my feels. As a parent I can relate to the emotional trauma you went through as you watched Colt fight his battle.  I’m so glad that he has made a full recovery.  ❤️‍🩹

Greatest story I have ever read. Blake bless your family and thank you our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus has special things in store for Mr. Colt!

God bless Colt.  You are at your closest to God when you are fighting for your life.  

And Colt is right:  when God is ready to take you, then he will take you.  

I'm sure there are many reading this thread now that can relate.  Seeing that picture of him hooked up to those machines brought back memories for me.  Being fed intravenously.  But I'm more emotional seeing the pictures and knowing what he dealt with than I was for  myself.  

He will recover and be better than ever.  God has ordained it.

 

What an inspiring family and uplifting story. We may not know when or how difficult or how long our challenges will last. Faith, family and perseverance will carry you through.

Blake, I think I told you that we missed you that night at Cook’s by hours. Nothing nearly as serious as Colt’s situation. 

 

I still say Colt needs a guest spot for a college pick’em.
