Despite his announcement to the contrary, Sydir actually never entered the portal and has decided to stay instead. Let’s see how it plays out.

  • Texas EDGE Justice Finkley has entered the portal.

DL is going to be priority #1 in the transfer portal. Can't lose DWill type of recruitments again.

Man Bo Davis whiffed a lot

To be fair I don't think he had the coin to go be successful at the position. This is the first year we've thrown big money at the position.

The only reason I don't think so yet is because his value is the lowest its ever been. I think Clemson and potentially ASU give him opportunities to pass catch and move in open space. If he decides to do this, then I think it happens after the season.

Portal entrant No. 3

Ah, man, just like that, our Falls County to Texas pipeline is gone.

Best of luck to all these guys and I’ll follow Jaray and Derion wherever they land.🤘

CJ.  Could you put this post at the top of the thread and keep it updated?  I think most of us would prefer to see the snapshot before looking through the whole thread.

Yes. I will add it now.

Good idea.

Yeah, I think that was poorly worded by me: I meant that he would play against Clemson and potentially ASU and beyond because that gives him an opportunity to catch passes against Clemson and ASU to increase his portal value.

Well hopefully not until after we've won the national championship.

Texas is up to 3 portal entrants today. The expectation is that number will double, at least, by the end of the week.

Guessing that Texas players entering the portal are off the team right away, not practicing for the bowl games?

That would seem to be the cleanest, probably best way to deal with it but the Arizona State coach, Kenny Dillingham, has a different approach. He's allowing players to announce now so they don't miss out on the first window, but stick around thru the playoff run to remain part of the team. Maybe they lack quality depth and need practice players? Not sure why he's doing it that way.  What happens when a current player in the portal wants to skip practice and take a recruiting trip to an interested school?

Anyway, a different approach for sure ... he sounds like a player's coach.
