The NCAA Response to Sorsby
The other thing that Tech has failed to acknowledge is that if he falls back into his addiction he will find a way to circumvent all the digital and financial account monitoring that they are using to justify that he can safely participate in football in the future. The first time some alumni hands him a Benjamin there’s nothing that they can do keep him from buying a burner and paying someone to set up an account for him. I’m sure that there are plenty of people that would be more than willing to go out of their way to “help” someone that is publicly known to be sitting on $6m (assuming he’s allowed to play).

The NCAA Response to Sorsby
You have to think they released this knowing that either the authorities already have all of this evidence or he has already arranged plea deals and the eligibility question is the only thing keeping him from being able to play. I don’t have any idea what the potential criminal penalties are for this, but it would certainly be difficult to plead not guilty considering he’s admitted to the evidence. Of course they can try the mental illness angle in criminal court also.

The NCAA Response to Sorsby
Because he may have also been breaking the law at the same time. I think that would make his friends accessories to the crime(s), but I’m not a lawyer.

The NCAA Response to Sorsby
Based on the Tech logic of minimal punishment for an addict you have to wonder what punishment they would deem appropriate for a non-addict that only made two bets that “happened” to be unders against his team. I would assume nothing less than a lifetime ban because that person was fully responsible for their own actions. BTW, when did Sorsby become an addict? His first IU bet?

The NCAA Response to Sorsby
The ultimate “your honor I do not recall” from our friends at ESPN: Sorsby, who appeared in 10 games and made seven starts at Indiana in 2023, said he was unaware of an October 2022 bet on the under for Indiana's quarterback passing yards or a September 2023 bet on the under for the first half of a Hoosiers football game. "Sorsby became aware of the bets only after the betting data was made available to his attorneys," the stipulated facts said. While I agree that it’s probably difficult to remember all the bets he’s made since he’s made SO many, that was an extremely convenient memory lapse.

The NCAA Response to Sorsby
Makes you wonder what the folks at IU and UC knew.

The NCAA Response to Sorsby
Even funnier, if Tech knew and didn’t do anything until the criminal investigations were revealed, could Sorsby sue Tech for enabling his addiction?
-
The NCAA Response to Sorsby
Kinda makes you think… If Tech did know and didn’t do anything until the criminal investigations were revealed, is the University potentially liable for enabling a criminal enterprise?

Joey McGuire...
More like $25m. Have Cody pony up for our entire annual NIL budget, Tech give Texas all of their 2026 media rights revenue, and require that Tech end the Sorsby reinstatement charade and I’d be up for a game against Tech at DKR.

SEC Baseball Tournament: (2) Texas vs. (7) Arkansas | Friday, 4:30 p.m.
Good to know the SEC baseball conference tournament is just as relevant as the SEC football conference championship game

I would be interested in a compare and contrast of this Sark offense versus his prior college offenses including Bama, USC, and Washington. Based on what you think you know about the various pieces, what prior college offense do you think this team most resembles from an individual talent and anticipated style of play perspective. The second question does NOT need to be somehow contorted into a prior Texas team comparison, feel free to cast a wider net.

Why reversing negative play differential is paramount to Texas' success in 2026
Completely agree. We were tragically inconsistent on first down. We either made a first down or were WAY behind the sticks. A bad cocktail of poor OL play, poor RB play, and ineffective passing plays / calls. Hopefully an improved OL and RB room provides the foundation for substantial improvement here.

Sorsby update
The NCAA just needs to take the L and move on. 😂 On a serious note…. Seems like he has a substantial problem. If I’m the NCAA, I wait for the legal process to take its course, which of course is not what Sorsby and his legal counsel want. Assuming that pushes close to the supplemental draft deadline Sorsby will have to make a tough decision as to whether to fight with the NCAA with potential state legal action coming or see if an NFL team will pick him up. I’m guessing the NCAA dodgers making a ruling unless they absolutely have to.

Ranking Top 10 College Football Teams from Past 3 Seasons
I like the direction you are heading, but think it might be more interesting to rank the individual teams over the last three seasons. Not having looked back or thought about it, would Indiana 2025 be the best? Ohio State 2024? Interesting question. The Longhorns have been in the discussion but not quite able to get over the top.

I’m sorry to say that I was at that one too! In that case I was disappointed about what should have been, but not bitterly angry.

Happy 4th & 13 Day! 🤘
The most mad I’ve been after a game and it’s not even close. A good reminder that football is just a game and should be treated as such. Not worth the level of anger I went through. On a funny note… I watched 4 & 13 through a window, outside the stadium. I had a flight to catch at ATL and no extra time to spare. Once it went into OT I gradually made it around the inside of the stadium, watching each play. By the time I got to the exit closest to my car I was out of time and the game was still frustratingly in doubt. Eventually made the decision to leave, but got a lucky break that I was able to see 4 & 13 on the big screen through a window into the stadium. Went absolutely nuts when Ewers and Golden made the play. But was still mad as hell afterwards.

Some guys were built for the spotlight: Sean Miller shines at age 14
Does he still have eligibility left? We could use a good point guard for this final run.

Baseball Game Thread: No. 2 Texas vs. No. 5 Auburn (Saturday)
It’s a long way to the CWS and I feel pretty confident this team is gonna be able to make the postseason. Schloss giving the team the opportunity to grow up on the road against a top 5 team is more important than any single win.

Not Texas good. And pretty obviously quit on his teammates during the bowl game.
