Depth Chart Snapshot: Where things stand as Texas prepares to open camp
Yeah, I’m with you. The listed WR depth chart doesn’t really matter in Sark’s offense. They don’t treat X/Y/Z as rigid spots ... they just roll out the best three for the concept. Coleman/Wingo/Mosely are your top group, then Bishop/McCutchen/Lockett depending on package. If someone goes down, they’re not checking a positional chart, they’re just grabbing the next best guy. WR depth chart is mostly for show. Sark plays the best three, not the next name on an X/Z/H line. very good point.

Depth Chart Snapshot: Where things stand as Texas prepares to open camp
He’s the #2 WLB, and that’s exactly where a freshman with his frame and athletic profile should be. He hasn’t fallen off, he hasn’t been passed, and he hasn’t done anything to change his trajectory --- He's just stuck behind a dude playing at a legit high‑end SEC level right now. He’s fine ... and you don't hear much about him because Biles is having the kind of camp where coaches talk about him unprompted. When a veteran is balling out, the backup - especially a freshman - disappears from the headlines. He’s long, rangy, athletic, and exactly what you want at WLB. But he’s still learning Run fits, How to take on an SEC OL, How to play fast and right.....That stuff just doesn’t generate daily hype.

Friday Team notes: WR
@CJ Vogel...I don’t know a ton about Stewart --- what was he like in high school? Was he more of a technician even back then, or did he play more as a big outside body? Always good to hear about guys grinding their way up the depth chart, especially in a room this loaded.

Friday Team notes: WR
I absolutely love watching Mosley. The dude just gets it. Some WRs win because they’re freaks ... Mosley wins because he’s a surgeon. He understands leverage, he understands pacing, he understands how to manipulate a DB’s hips, and he’s always two steps ahead in the route. He’s one of those guys who looks open even before he actually is.

Texas will get a real deal soon .... and it won’t be sourced from a guy whose insider is his Uber driver.

The SEC & Big 10 are on the clock, according to...
Totally with you on this @Steamboat Willie. The media‑rights battle is basically settled .... SEC and Big Ten already carved out the outcome they wanted, and the voluntary pooling language locks that in. What’s left on the table now is the hard stuff: real enforcement, closing loopholes, and making sure the legal framework actually holds up instead of sending everyone right back to court. Petitti pumping the brakes until he sees the exact language is just smart. None of the remaining issues are minor, and every one of them gives the conferences more reason to slow‑play this. If they think next offseason gets them a cleaner, stronger bill, there’s no downside at all to letting this version run out of gas.

The SEC & Big 10 are on the clock, according to...
LMAO....honestly, at this point Cruz and whoever else(forgot her name) helped push this thing forward should be embarrassed that this bill ever made it out of the garage. The opening draft was a disaster --- And now they’re giving the SEC and Big Ten a 9am deadline? That’s comedy. You don’t issue ultimatums to the only two conferences keeping the entire enterprise afloat. Will say this >>>>Sankey and Petitti are playing it perfectly: slow‑play it, smile politely, and let Congress realize they don’t have the leverage they think they do. The arrogance that built this bill is the same arrogance that’s going to kill it.

RIP SteveHookem
Saddened to learn of the passing of Steven “SteveHookem” Rawley ---Steve was a longtime member of the Orangebloods community and a dedicated Texas Longhorns fan whose presence and passion enriched the conversations we all shared over the years. My wife and I extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Coffee and Football Special Guests Lineup
Blake out here listing guests like he’s assembling the Avengers, and half the board is tossing out names like it’s a Make‑A‑Wish roster. McConaughey? Sure. Glen Powell? Why not. Let’s go ahead and pencil in Beyonce and the Pope while we’re at it. 😀 But honestly? Blake’s cooking. Vic Schaefer, Henry Melton, JGray --- that’s already a strong lineup. And if he ever lands McConaughey, this board will act like we just won the natty again.

Royal announcing 7/29, his birthday.
A date isn’t a flip. A birthday isn’t a flip. A rumor from TigerDroppings isn’t a flip. The only thing flipping is this board’s emotional stability. Texas is fine. The roster is fine. The staff is fine. The NIL is fine. The only thing not fine is the people sprinting into meltdown mode because a teenager posted a number. I’ll respond when there’s actual news. Not when the panic hobbyists start their daily cardio. I'm with Bobby --- I'd sit tight

OU’s #3 WR trying to flex
Didn't realize that...had to go look it up. Texas hasn’t beaten OU three straight times this century, and that’s exactly why this year’s about to get real uncomfortable for them. Sark already snapped their little “we own the rivalry” myth, hung a 49‑0 obituary on their wall in 2022(we barely lost in 2023 and should have won that game), and now he’s sitting on a two‑game streak with the deepest roster he’s had. So yeah .... it’s true, and that third one is lining up like a slow‑moving train they can’t get off the tracks.

WTF Bama
Bama staying involved in this stuff isn’t even shocking anymore. Every time a headline drops, you just brace for whatever embarrassing detail comes next. Human‑trafficking sting, $100 hookup, NIL director ---- just another day in Tuscaloosa. At this point it’s less “Roll Tide” and more “roll out the arrest records."

Texas Speaks Today…
To Sark: What’s the one thing about this team you won’t know for sure until SEC play starts ? To ARCH: What’s the single biggest thing you’ve learned from Quinn about preparing like a starter ? To Colin: Which pass‑rush move are you most confident will translate immediately in SEC play ? To Trevor: What’s the toughest part of playing OL in the SEC that fans don’t see ? (OR) why are you so damn good ?

Sumrall’s a junkyard dawg? Cool. Bring him to DKR and let’s see how loud he barks when Sark has him chasing motion all night.

45 Days Until Kickoff: Who Was The Best No. 45?
Haha fair enough --- totally different eras and roles. I just always had a soft spot for Reed because he was that classic early‑Mack lunch‑pail linebacker who showed up every week and racked up tackles like it was his job… because it was. Broughton’s the better athlete, no doubt. Boyd was just my personal favorite at 45
