Ok, that makes sense. The ESPN article completely left that part out. So, essentially the time for the punt and fair catch stop at zero, but the other team gets an offensive play at time 00:00, but only if that play is a field goal try. Sounds like a silly rule. How do you justify the need for that rule?

When PK was hired, I read a good article on his defensive style and terminology. Has anyone seen a thread or article on the defense Muschamp runs today and the terminology he uses? I keep hearing Bobby and the other OTF personalities referring to something called an overhang linebacker. I'm not familiar with that term.

I was shown a really nice post/thread on IT by Joe Cook about Bill, but since I don't belong there any longer I didn't see it when it came out back in the early spring. I want to leave this message/prayer: If you know someone hurting, tell them to reach out to their loved ones and friends that love them. Also, reach out to your friends and loved ones more often than not. Tell them you love them and you are always there for them no matter what.

Does anyone in OTF know Bill? At one time, he was in the top 5 of LHF donors and had an East Side 50-yard line suite. He was my little brother in my fraternity, and I have not been able to get a hold of him. Last time he retired my email and texts was last fall. I'm not sure if he belonged to OTF. Bussey is a talented dude. Five-star; I compare him to Jermaine Bishop. A super-fast and twitchy WR that Aggy will use in multiple ways this year. Like Bishop, he's done a little of everything at 2A Timpson. He didn't face the same competition, but it's the measurables and skill set that are similar. He is supposed to be a class act too.

So, do you think the non contact knee injuries like this are previous undiagnosed years that created weak areas and then just the right stress pops them clean? It's crazy how often this and tendon years happen in non contact drills. Didn't we have a TE back in Mack's early years that missed two years due to camp injuries?

Again, the film don't lie. We were still making some basic mistakes in that OL in game 13 that we made in game 1. That was the entire point of that guy's video. I rewatched the entire Michigan game last week on ESPNU, and I noticed all those dirty pockets and Defensive guys running free at Arch, but I didn't slow it down to see the individual blown assignments and dropped balls. The guy makes a good argument about mistakes hurting Arch, but him playing Superman to overcome many if them. The Michigan game was a perfect example.

Listen, that film breakdown was in the bowl game. That OL was still making the same mistakes in game 13 that they were making in game 1 against OSU. Okay Arch missed Wingo on the dig rite, but that was not a clean pocket either. The DE|LB was right in his face. So, how many of those errant throws all year were due to Arch rushing and forcing a little because he knew he had an OL with a penchant for blowing assignments? To say the OL "protected him" is like saying the Secret Service protected Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Well, he didn't get killed, did he? That's about the same logic. Blowing your assignments in game 13 and forcing your QB to make Superman plays is not "protecting your QB." I agree with the dude breaking down the film. No way in hell the OL should have been making those mistakes in the last game of the year, and no way in hell should our WRs be dropping that many balls that hit them in their hands. The DC got fired for struggling with his D late in the year, but maybe one other coach should have been given his walking papers as well. The film doesn't lie.

Yes, he played for him in 2011 in his last year of his NFL career. He backed up Michael Vick, but didn't see the field much. He was already ruined by then, and Andy wasn't running his wide open offense he runs today with Maholmes. Also, VY admits he was mentally and physically screwed up by that point.

I was thinking that as well. Chow was OC and Fisher a former USC all-american. I think Bud Adams wanted VY and that was his pick. Not Fisher and Chow.

What would VY have done playing for a coach like Andy Reid? Sad pro ending to a career with a very good start. Norm Chow when interviewed after that game in Houston that VY won with a 20+ yard scramble for a TD, said that VY missed two open reads on that play. He seriously said that instead of praising Vince. Both Fisher and Chow were complicit in the destruction of VY. Ya, VY didn't handle the pro life well either, but with a little support and success, how good could he have been? I'll never forgive or respect either one of them.

Yes, DeSoto was 5a went to 6a and now are 5a again. The point was, regardless if they are 5a or 6a, you were right in the competition disparity between Timpson and Willis. They are different. However, a measurable and a skill set are the same no matter what the competition is. Adrian Peterson was at 3a Palestine, but his measurables and skill set were not disputable. They translated to a pretty good college and pro career. Production and records are where comparisons are difficult, and subjective observations can be tricky as well because the context of competition. Bussey and Bishop, however, were both celebrated 5-stars because of their speed, quickness, and elusiveness, in their normal offense and on special teams, not because of their overall numbers or observations against inferior competition. That is why I asked how the compared to each other in the measurables and skill set, and not in production.

Willis was 5a like DeSoto, but I see your point. The competition is much less in 2a versus 5a, so their records and numbers are not the same. However, their skill set and measurables are something outside of records and numbers, don't you agree? The reason I asked the question is that, in both players' recruitment, their skill set in the film clips looked similar to me, and in their camp testings, their measurables were very similar.

Do you think MT3 is in the wrong position? Is he big enough to play that H-back\Slot position? Is he strictly an offensive guy? Could he play Safety?

CJ, how does Bishop's skill set compare with Aggies' Terry Bussey? They were both celebrated 5-stars with a lot of hype.

We moved from Austin to Houston and I remember my dad telling me and my brother about this. I was nine when it happened and it seemed surreal because how iconic the tower, the campus, and the Drag were to us. Things always happen in Austin after I move. I lived in Austin again while at UT until 1982, and then moved back in 1986 for more school. In 1990 my wife, kids, and I moved back to the Houston area for work, and right after that move the Yogurt Shop murders occurred. I've been in the shop where it happened, and again it seemed surreal.

So sorry for the loss. I'm glad he had a relationship with his Savior. No more worries. He's in a better place. I pray the Father give his friends and family peace and comfort.

That's nonsense when you say, "it's not fair." These are student athletes. They are not getting a salary for a job. No one is arguing they should not be able to profit off their popularity, hence NIL legislation, but that is a long way from pay to play. Again, if this is going to be nothing but a G-League for the NFL where players are paid for a job, then the schools need to divest of this nonsense and let the NFL find investors for each team, a city to locate them in, and finally a NFL club to link them to. If on the other hand they want to preserve college football and the collegiate athlete, then they need legislation that allows them to do that.
