  1. Bishop is significantly shiftier. Bussey added weight, probably too much weight, after arriving in College Station.
  2. I believe it will be Philo. Too much continuity with the OC
  3. Injuries to Monitor: Missouri RB Ahmad Hardy Florida CB Dijon Johnson (Meniscus surgery) Texas A&M LB Daymion Sanford (broken fibula) **** Texas is fully healthy heading into Wednesday's opening practice.
  4. Quarterback Battles to Watch: Tennessee: Redshirt freshman George MacIntyre and true freshman Faizon Brandon Florida: Georgia Tech transfer Aaron Philo and redshirt freshman Tramell Jones Jr. Arkansas: Redshirt sophomore KJ Jackson and redshirt freshman AJ Hill
  5. Texas is on the practice field this afternoon for day one of training camp, meaning football is back in Austin, Texas! For the most part, the majority of Texas' opponents will be beginning practice Wednesday as well. Will keep this thread alive over the week as developments continue from across the 12 campuses on the Texas schedule. *** First practice of fall camp: Texas State ... Wednesday, August 5th Ohio State ... Thursday, August 6th UTSA ... Wednesday, August 5th Tennessee ... Wednesday, August 5th Oklahoma ... Wednesday, August 5th Florida ... Wednesday, August 5th Ole Miss ... Thursday, August 6th Miss State ... Thursday, August 6th Missouri .... Monday, August 3rd LSU ... Wednesday, August 5th Arkansas ... Wednesday, August 5th Texas A&M ... Wednesday, August 5th
  6. Can I interest any one in the Louisville Cardinals to make the College Football Playoffs in 2026? Louisville would need to go 2–2 against SMU, Florida State, Ole Miss and Georgia Tech and they are in the Playoffs. Former Ohio State QB Lincoln Kienholz is the man under center. I could absolutely see it based off of this cupcake schedule.
  7. Derrek Cooper definitely in the conversation too! Knowing there is two-way ability for Bishop, he gets the nod for me. Hopeful for Atkinson to make an impact this fall.
  8. Had a thought of which freshman had the most excitement entering each fall camp in the Sarkisian era. There have been some fantastic freshmen talents for the Longhorns over the years and wanted to start the conversation here. This was the best list I could compile from each season: 2021 – Xavier Worthy 2022 – Kelvin Banks 2023 – Arch Manning OR Anthony Hill Jr. 2024 – Colin Simmons 2025 – Justus Terry –– Who is the 2026 season's most anticipated freshman entering fall camp? I would make the case it is Jermaine Bishop Jr.
  9. Love Arch over passing yards! And passing touchdowns.
  10. Plenty of talent here, but also plenty of competition. Cant wait to see which positions change over the next month.
  11. Big outside body probably isn’t accurate, only six feet tall. He was used in a variety of roles, slot, outside, backfield at times. I love the intermediate game for Stewart, but he was very good with the ball in his hands as well. I don’t know verified times for him, but there’s definite wiggle in his game
  12. Love that nugget on Chris Stewart. Buzz this offseason about bishop and Brown, easy to lose him in the fold.
  13. Add a couple of sacks today for Burke, pretty strong showing on Thursday it sounds like.
  14. Over the course of the next month, I wanted to check in on a few members of the 2026 Texas rookie class in the NFL. Today, the focus is on Baltimore Ravens EDGE rusher Ethan Burke, who found his new home out on the east coast quickly after going undrafted in April. Burke was born in Baltimore and still has family in the Maryland area, not to mention he was originally committed to the Terps to play lacrosse before opting for a football career at Texas. As a result, he a strong support system in place as he tries to crack the 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent. One of the largest developments for Burkes was dropping about 11 pounds from his final snaps at Texas to now. OTF was told he is right around 265 pounds and was listed at 267 on the Ravens' camp roster. A source said Burke is moving at his absolute best since beginning his football-only career. He is stronger and moving better than ever before. From what I understand, a lot of the focus following the season was to fixate completely on physical adjustments. First, getting completely healthy and two, slimming down as he embarks on his professional career. A writer from SBNation's Baltimore Beatdown noted Burke was pressuring Lamar Jackson throughout the day during practice Thursday morning. Hope to keep you all updated on what's ahead for Burke and plenty of other Texas rookies as training camp heats up and preseason games begin. Feels good to talk about football!
