How dare he repeatedly appeal to integrity as the basis for his and his school’s actions. This is a stain on the integrity of college sports that will likely last a generation or longer. Instead of doubling down, the integrity move would be to acknowledge the universal disgust and outrage and kick Sorbsy off the team. Instead, like a coward, he distances himself from the lawsuit and claims Tech has no agency in the matter. Kick the damn kid off your team, or suffer the inevitable consequences of forfeiting your games or being left out of the CFP.

Again, this was clearly a Pyrrhic victory for Tech. It won’t really matter if Sorbsy is eligible if they forfeit all their games or if the Big 12 teams boycott those games. What the hell did they think was going to happen? Did Joey and Cody actually think the rest of the college sports universe was just going to roll over for their bullshit scheming? Karma.

An alcoholic shows up to work drunk repeatedly. He is fired. He files for an injunction. He is granted the injunction. The judge says he would be “irreparably harmed” due to the loss of income. Have we lost our collective minds?

Cody’s comments about the system being broken sound like mobster logic: “nice CFB system ya got here. Would be a shame if something happened to it.”

Tech is proving Men in Black correct: when you take a cockroach and turn it huge and give it a tremendous amount of power, the world will suffer the destructive consequences as a result. Tech can spend all the millions it wants to try and buy into the big boys club; to me they will always be nothing more than a bunch of roaches.

All I know is that Joey the Mouth can STFU forever with his feigned outrage over Sark’s comments, and Cody Campbell can take his faux patriotism and shove it. The two most cynical people in CFB right now, and that’s saying something.

It’s honestly pathetic. To be so nakedly ambitious and amoral on such a public, national stage—there’s no coming back from this for Tech in the court of public opinion. They’ve sold their collective souls.

This is entirely nonsensical to me. Yes, of course Brendan Sorsby will suffer irreparable harm from forfeiting the cash he was about to make from repeatedly and flagrantly violating NCAA rules. That’s like granting a politician who embezzled campaign contributions an injunction because getting kicked out of Congress would cause him “irreparable harm.”
