The on-field product, or “the results” or “facts” as you like to call them, have evolved just fine and took us from 5-7 to back to back top 4 finishes, big wins over our rivals, conference titles, etc. Something Herman could only dream about at this point in his career. You keep doing you. I know you will always have a response to everything and nothing will ever change your mind about this program. You constantly bagged on Herman, you constantly bag on Sark and you will drag whoever the next guy is too. Same in basketball. Same in baseball. That’s your DNA. Negativity and being contrarian. You are most active on here after any type of negative outcome, whether it be recruiting or on the field. It’s like clockwork.

This is an hilarious conversation for someone who spent all their time on 247 back in the day ripping on Herman to now all of a sudden trying to apply context to his tenure. When there is a 4 team playoff and you never come close to making it, you never sniffed the playoffs. There is no ifs, ands or buts. Huh? No other team had access to NIL or the transfer portal during his time either. He had the same built in recruiting advantages every Texas coach has had the last 30 years. What type of context do you need to know that Tom Herman never lost fewer than 3 games in a season, was hated by his player, went 1-4 vs Oklahoma, embarrassed the university publicly multiple times and left us with 7 scholarship offensive lineman. He never sniffed the playoff. There is no further context needed. He was a boneheaded coach who produced inconsistent results and is currently unemployed after being fired in less than 2 years from his job after Texas.

Firing James Franklin, who couldn’t win the big game, for Matt Rhule, who is 0-18 against ranked opponents at Baylor and Nebraska, would be a tough sell if I was a Penn State fan.

Kinne or Traylor would need a Baylor/TCU/SMU type to shake loose I would think. And Kinne ain’t exactly covering himself in glory after entering the year with some expectations. I know Traylor tried for the UH job but he really needed to get out of UTSA a few years ago. He’s now in the G5 cycle of death in terms of his roster turnover.

Hard to give a guy a 4th year when he has mismanaged the QB position all 3 years. Pretty much had an open checkbook and freedom to do whatever he needed to fix the position after last season. He chose Jackson Arnold.

That was in relation to spring practice since it was less than 3 months after the previous season ended. Fall Camp had the full number of padded practices and normal contact periods.

Brother, you can try to convince yourself otherwise but most of these decisions are money driven. Miami is going to try to tell a HS QB to not trust Texas’ development when Miami has had to go to the portal 3 straight years for a QB? Before Sayin, Ohio State had 3 straight cycles where they QB signee transferred. None of these schools have pristine track records. It’s college football. Trying to say Texas had a QB “only” go in the 7th round of the NFL draft is a waste of time.
