HOOK 'EM | Texas Flips OL Kaden Scherer

Scherer is a heck of an athlete. Wanted to play tight end and defensive end in high school but kept growing and was convinced to give tackle a try.  Turned out to be a pretty good decision.

  • I like him as a prospect. He's a good athlete who can cross-train at multiple positions.

  • BTW, this makes TWO Williamson County boys who will suit up for Texas! To that, I say:

  • I mean all Oline high school prospects should be developmental players… never want those guys to start as a freshman unless you absolutely have no one better.

Save the OL powder for the portal and no doubter types like Banks. Exactly the type of HS OL we should be targeting. Inexpensive with decent ceiling.

Momentum lolol (last three commits)

3 Star TE

3 Star RB (will admit he’s a stud)

3 Star OL

Projected Finish

4 star DL

3 star LB

3 star CB

Ah still with this whole star thing lmao, it’s a kid who wants to play for the good guys just be happy with it.

If the kid is a dawg then bring him on board!

So far in the 2026 HS class, the 3 OL committed are not expected to be day 1 starters and they each have solid frames to grow into! I like this strategy of going with more athletic guys who can grow into their frames instead of needing guys to trim down.

Agree, I meant it in a good way, couple of years, he could be a good tackle

That’s my bad man🙏, hard to tell the tone when it’s through text so sorry.

You can be excited about a kid choosing a great university and also be concerned about the class finish

Who was the last rod grader guard we recruited?  DJ?  Is Robertson going to be like DJ?  Seems like we target tackles and don’t get a lot of interior guys, but maybe I am missing something on the recruiting news.

You mean like Stroh?

CJ does Texas still have interest in the OL that decommitted from Alabama today?

What if half of those lands are 4 stars in a month? Wouldn’t be the first time.

This sounds like a another development project which we have a lot of already. Hope we see him contribute in a couple years.

So no other SEC schools is seeing what we’re seeing.  Guy has zero other SEC offers and we’re suppose to sing the praises of this take because Goolsby was also a 3-Star.

He may turn out to be a 4 year starter but why jump to offer him now when he has no other equivalent offers on the table?

Guys, Pull his offer ASAP. The armchair offensive line expert has spoken. We don’t need guys on the rosters with NO other SEC offers.
