We are now just two days away from the Longhorns opening the season against the Buckeyes.

Who is your favorite player to wear No. 2 for Texas?

one of my favorites back in the day.  Lubbock’s own Taje Allen.  Played several years in the League and won a Super Bowl with the Rams.  Also was Rod Weaver’s roommate for the Sugar Bowl, doh!

Eric Metcalf was a freak. As well as being an all around weapon on the football field, he was a 2 time NCAA long jump champion.
I wish he would have been in an offense that could have better utilized his skills. He was a talent that was ahead of his time.

If Golden had spent more time as a Longhorn he would definitely be ranked higher.   Loved both Metcalf and RJ too.

Man I can't believe I forgot him. GREAT call.

We are all disappointed in you, Blake.

1985 to 2023: Metcalf

2024 and forward: Golden

I watched RoJo put the team on his back to beat Baylor his Sr. year.  I really feel like that team really started to turn the culture around from a player perspective.  So many good young men, RoJo one of, if not the best.
