It will be interesting to see if all the AD's, Presidents, coaches, etc. follow through on all the posturing that has gone on since the decision came down. Color me jaded, but in the social media world we now live in, everyone wants to throw out their statements, but little actually happens in reality. I would LOVE to see teams not schedule Tech and boycott them in all sports but that takes administrators with some guts and I am skeptical. It will be interesting to see this play out, but in the era of no rules, I feel it's going to be a lot of smoke and no fire.

Insightful article, thanks Gerry. I follow OSU as my mom got her graduate degrees, my brother wrestled there, and I went to high school in NE OK. I found it particularly interesting the low number of players that transferred out to other power 4 schools. Shows how the talent level had fallen there.

I’m going to go a different route. The science behind modern trading methods fascinates me. Anyone from the strength and conditioning department and/or the trading staff would be interesting. Also, with college sports being big business now, people from the “front office”. GM, recruiting, Nil, marketing, etc.

When the UIL went to 2 divisions in all classifications, the districts became much more spread out. Lots of districts with a lot of long road trips. I’m old and still like the non-division, A through 6A set up with 2 teams in the playoffs. Four teams from each district is ridiculous with losing teams in and first round blowouts the norm.

I’ve always said you can judge a coach by the improvement a team makes over a season. This team is on the right trajectory now, after a rocky start. There will be some hiccups but they are moving in the right direction. This team has some deficiencies but if the play as hard as they have lately, should be fun to watch. Tanks Jeff for your work covering basketball.

While the end of the season was disappointing, dude… they won the SEC regular season championship. No easy feat. That in a transitional, new coach season.

Good sentiments by all. These message boards frequently frustrate me with all the negativity. “We suck”, “fire everyone”, etc. It has been a roller coaster of a season and I have been disappointed and frustrated at times. But watch the games, and those guys play hard and fight. I love the guys Sark is bringing in and I feel this year’s struggles will translate to more success in the future.
