I simply said it would be sexism to say our softball program couldn’t be profitable. Oklahoma been profitable for years I suspect we are profitable softball program. I’m a Texas fan . I assume you are also . Let’s root our Longhorns on . Wish you only the best.”HOOKEM “

It’s a projection based on gate receipts, staff costs, travel costs, etc. And now that revenue sharing is in the mix it will even be tougher for even the marginal revenue sports to be profitable. Nothing sexist about it.

Pretty sure they got their money's worth in advertising. Have you watched the 2st 2 games? Basically a tech love fest for a couple of hours for the last 2 days. They'd be sitting at home watching with

This is the real-life version of "Homer at the Bat." Mr. Burns is doing his best to buy a championship.

TCEH is getting pretty ambitious.  I think Blake referenced this story earlier, but I haven't seen the actual article posted on OTF.

Nathan Nelson is a street agent(remember when those were bad?). I read that article and the follow up from the AAS and I don’t believe a word of what he says.

He's probably on the collective's payroll.

I wonder if Tech has become the new evil empire in softball overtaking ou.  ou was hated (outside of Norman) because they were dominant, Tech is becoming the bad guy outside of Lubbock for trying to buy a championship.  To their credit, Tech fans are owning it saying, tell your boosters to spend money.

But their excuse of ou and Texas has been paying players for years holds no water with me.  It's not like Texas has been a powerhouse.  The Cat years were primarily because of a once in a lifetime pitcher and only once Coach White arrived did Texas make noise in the WCWS.  ou on the other hand, possibly, but it's not hard to believe that a standout pitcher wouldn't want to transfer there knowing they have a good chance at a championship.

Those guys get to spend their money the way they want.
