One of the UVA kids is a SS. I dont think we are moving Mendoza his position was pretty good there

I am not expecting softball to be too active in the portal this summer. There just isn't a huge need numbers wise. 

Biggest thing is retaining the roster from poachers, so far they've done a great job at that.

They say we have legit interest in Tech's 3rd baseman who was a true freshmen last season. 

 

I think Katie Stewart shifts to 1st base next season.

Katie surprised me with her athleticism this year. Made plays in left field and at short. I think she’s athletic enough to play in a lot of spots.

Well except for SS.

She didn’t light it up but was good enough that the coaching staff decided to give it a try. That says something.

And the team got immediately better once they moved her to LF.

She played well at lf but I also like her better at 1b if she can make it work. The tech 3b is being squeezed out. She’s good and only a freshman .with mia Scott leaving. I’d consider her.

My guess at the projected starting lineup next year for softball would be:

• 1B - Stewart
• 2B - Goode
• SS - Martinez
• 3B - 
• LF - 
• CF - Henry
• RF - Maloney
• C - Atwood
• P - Kavan

Potentially some stud freshman could take the open positions, but it's there for the taking for the right person in the portal.

How funny would it be if Lindemuth transferred to Texas and is a major factor in Texas beating Tech in the WCWS?  Let's face it, with the lineup they've put together, they should win the big 12 easily since there's no Texas or ou in their way.
