I watched Joel Klatt on YouTube yesterday. He was grading QBs, and said Klubnik was the best returning QB. I have thought highly of Klubnik since his Westlake days and IIRC Gerry and Bobby and CJV think well of Klubnik now.

Klatt thought that because he trusted Sark’s process and Arch’s dedication [along with Arch’s talent] that Arch would be the second best QB returning.

Klatt said that he watched Washington State film for the entire season because he had to prep for being their Bowl game commentator, and he thought Mateer was the third best returning QB.

To me, Klatt sounds reasonable and not like a hype machine. What is your take? Do you think Klatt is value added?

Many of you here have opinions supported by football experience, which I do not, so I enjoy the community guidance about who are trustworthy football commentators and who are not. 

I like Klatt and his approach 

I’m one that believes LaNorris Sellers should be higher on all these lists, but my concern is SoCar can’t put the dudes around him on offense

I like Klatt. He has always struck me as a less weaselly version of Neuheisel. 

I like Klatt. I’ll often watch his YouTube channel during the season. 

I like Klatt. He seems to talk of Texas with respect and honesty, not a sunshine either.

Of the sports pundits covering college football, i trust Klatt more than most of the others. His analysis is reason based as opposed to narrative based. Most of his takes are either correct or reasonably correct based on available information.

Joel Klatt. Na-na-na-na-na. Joel Klatt.

I think Klubnik is a very good player. I just don’t think he’s a 1-1. But I still don’t see that in Cam Ward either.

I agree with you on this.  He seems pretty even handed about Texas even though I think he was the Colorado QB in the 70-0 beat down, right?

The other guy I like is Josh Pate even though I think there are a lot of guys who don't like him.

The list of guys I wouldn't listen to is lengthy but these two, to use your term,  offer 'value added'.

Yep; Kelson rocked him. Klatt spent the night in a Houston hospital.

I don’t know if I’d say he is happy. I think he just calls it like he sees it.

Agree.   On the national stage, Klatt and Pate are both thoughtful and both respect Sark.   My two favorites to hear national perspective.

I’m a Klatt fan

I've always like Klatt. He speaks of Texas with a lot of respect. He also loves to troll little bro,  so he gets bonus points for that.

I trust Bobby Burton 

I don't always agree with Klatt or Pate, but they always have well-reasoned arguments and live and breathe football.  

Sam Leavitt might need to be mentioned in the top 3.

Klatt has always liked Texas.  

I watch/listen to Klatt's reviews and previews during the season.  Drew Kelson still has Klatt's soul in a briefcase somewhere.

I've said it before. Leavitt can't throw. Being elusive in the pocket doesn't make a great QB. Leadership without an arm won't mean much.

The lines of scrimmage for Texas against Arizona State literally failed to play from the second until late in the fourth quarter. Leavitt came into the game claiming he was the best. Guy's a chump. He didn't make any great throws in that game. Quinn made one mistake in that game. Quinn made three great throws in a row in that game. All discontinuous and all under the most dire of circumstances. And we got supposedly Texas faithful blowing up Leavitt. With friends like that, you don't need enemies.

I want to reiterate. What's has Leavitt done? Beat Iowa State? PeeWee? Who has that chump beaten? No one, that's who. I just don't get it. I hope we play him in the playoffs again.

Me too. And someone mentioned Pate earlier. He's good, but prefer Klatt.

Pate's a click bate guy and full of himself. Klatt's pretty good.
