While Jay Wright may not have a buyout he will come with a huge price tag likely in the $10 million per season range plus a HUGE NIL commitment.

In 2021 UCLA was an 11 seed and played Michigan State in the First Four play-in game on their way to the Final Four, before losing to Gonzaga by 3 pts.

Michigan St has one of the best coaches in the sports history who is known for overachieving teams seed better than any other coach.

Believe LSU got there as an eleven seed.

Before the tournament expanded beyond 64 teams, so no play in game.  That LSU team came to Austin and beat Weltlich's best team here by 9.

Not me.  First up is a BYU team that had a 9 game winning streak before losing to Houston in the Big 12 tournament.  Those 9 wins included wins at Arizona, at ISU, and neutral against ISU as well as a 34 point beatdown of Kansas.

But back to the buyout issue, rising assistants and brilliant mid-major coaches don't have big buyouts.

You're right.  I'm wrong.  I saw the game being played on Thursday and assumed it was a round one instead of a playoff game.  Odd that they had second round games on Monay that year.
