It’s a late start tonight with the Longhorns taking on the Huskies in Las Vegas.

After an error charged to Jalin Flores, Spencer issued a walk with one out. But Spencer got the Huskies to ground into a 4-6-3 double play to get out of the inning.

 

M1: Texas 0, Washington 0

A Mendoza single through the left side gets things started for Texas in the first. Belyeu is on first after grounding into a fielder’s choice.

Gasparino grounds into a 5-4-3 double play and the Longhorns are quickly done away with in the home half.

Spencer retires the Huskies in order in six pitches in the second.

M2: UT 0, UW 0

BOOM! Flores goes deep! Texas strikes first!

It was a 418-foot blast to left-center with an exit velocity of 104 mph for Flores’ first home run of the season!

That was a two-out, solo shot for Flores. The Longhorns grab the early lead, 1-0.

Max Banks strikes out the side in the second, but a monster shot by Flores has Texas up by a run with two innings in the books.

If Flores can get going the offense could be really good.

Tie game. Cooper Whitton takes Spencer deep to lead off the top of the third.

Whitton’s homer was an opposite-field shot to right-center on an 0-2 pitch.

The Huskies are still alive in the top of the third after Spencer issues a two-out walk.

Spencer cleanly fields a popped-up bunt to end the inning.

The Huskies tie the game on a solo home run and leave a runner stranded.

The Longhorns go down in order in the third.

Spencer crosses the 50-pitch mark with two outs in the top of the fourth.

Adrian Rodriguez gets charged with a two-out fielding error. Knight is safe and the top of the fourth continues for the Huskies.

Spencer strikes out Hotchkiss to end the threat and get out of the fourth.
