Anybody watch the McNeese game tonight?;)

I watched only the very end of it.

The Southland doesn't have any competition for McNeese this year.  SFA has really fallen off.  I had hoped UTRVG would do something under Fennell this year, but it collapsed when Abdul-Hakim left the team.

You will wade folks might want to just get it through your head that it’s not happening. Just go read what caused him to get the show cause.

Everybody is just throwing out names now. None of them really know. Somebody heard from Somebody who heard from Somebody with inside knowledge.

And let's now start talking about getting Wright, Calhoun, and Krzyzewski out of retirement to act as a triumvirate of coaches, why don't we?

Was told last night to watch Virginia Tech potentially opening too.

This is going to be a pretty active coaching carousel

Honestly might force CDC to open the money machine that Texas is

So I see it as a good thing.

Unless a Duke or Kansas opens up them we are in a good spot

I read some opinion pieces by a Blacksburg area writer on that topic.  He initially said Mike Young is a goner.  Then he quickly wrote a follow-up suggesting Va Tech is currently stuck with him because it doesn't have the money right now to fund his buyout and get a quality coach.

Bobby’s comment on the show yesterday morning makes me feel better about the money situation. Guess we will see if it becomes a reality

What did he say? I don’t have a lot of time to watch YouTube these days.

Basically said that if CDC finds his guy then money won’t be an issue (they were talking about the 7-8 million per year range). Plus he stated that with Sark making 10+ million a year it allows us to pay within that 7-9 million per year range for a basketball coach since it won’t be more than Sarks annual salary. Time will tell though

Sounds good to me

I have a weird feeling the guy will be Mark Few. Similar situation to Scott Drew and it may be time for him to move on to another place.

***Assuming money is right

If we hire Mark Few I will pull a Jordan and chop off a hand

Why? Mark Few is better than every other coach in the history of our program. I think he's maxed out Gonzaga and may want to get his shot a ring. Texas isn't a complete rebuild and it doesn't take 3-4 years to turn around a basketball team in this era. He is old(62) but we could get him for 6-8 years that would be good to jump start what we want our program to be.

Hahaha I meant that in a good way! I’m saying I would bet a large sum of money that Few never leaves the Zags.
If we did hire him I would be happier than a fat kid in a candy store. Few is easily a top 5 coach

If it’s 6-8 years then older candidates should be considered as well.

I am actually interested in what happens if Drew goes to Indiana and McCasland heads to Baylor. It gets even more interesting if Bill Self steps down for health reasons.

Sure so long as their collegiate resume is as good as Fews. Should be go after Pops?
