Pretty much best case scenario here. He’s a good DC with a defense that’s been known to give Sark a bit of trouble. Now we won’t play him game 1 and OU didn’t get the guy they swore up and down was headed their way lol. 
 

Of course now that I’ve said this we will definitely play Penn State in the playoffs next year 😅

Would love for Day to go to the NFL and open up a 30 day free for all window to poach OSU players

It’s crazy how fast a national championship can make a head coach go from “he can’t win the big one” to possible NFL hire candidate. 

There rumblings about a few NFL team’s interest in Chip Kelly, too. Could face a Buckeyes squad that is replacing both coordinators.

Always rumors but FWIW an OSU Board is saying he had issues with Day after Oregon loss. And bad issues with Larry Johnson DL coach and things got personal etc. Take it FWIW but at least OU got shafted 🤣.

Of course 3 mil$ a year for 3 years helps to make a decision easier as well. Love to see Chip go next !!

Weakened OSU ahead of our game, so very little time to learn new system.  Continuity is key for a defense.  Wonder if Downs would be on the move to Penn State.

He’s now the highest paid coordinator in college football history I believe

Did the same at Oklahoma State, and I hear he is from Pennsylvania. 

He knew he was losing a senior heavy defense that was one of the best in college last year so he got a million dollar raise and moved to a team with more coming back next year. Smart move but crazy that in this scenario you win a championship and jump ship to a conference rival just like that
