Leaving weeks before a new legislative session is sort of a chickensh*t move, expected more from Hartzell.

The search committee needs time to interview candidates. The University legislature staff usually handles handles the meetings.

Okay fine, I'll be the idiot that asks... Any concern of CDC following Hartzell? I'd assume absolutely not but I'm no more than a plebian fan.

CDC isn’t going anywhere.

Damn sad to hear this!! Love Jay, he was the dean at McCombs when I was there and love his passion and pride for the university of Texas when he was here. He has done some great work in the past 4 years and wish him well. I just hope we get another great president focused on moving the university forward together and understanding the important tie between athletics, academic success, and active engaged alumni!

He's giving 6 months notice, how much more advanced notice does he need to give to not be "chickenshit"?

Well, at least the Provost has been on the job permanently for all of one day.

Y, I don’t think that was an accident.  LOL!

This article was linked in one of the volleyball forums:  https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/texas-president-jay-hartzell-resigns-smu/269-62f9e150-237a-40f0-9f53-c0ecb889c86c

According to the article, it stemmed from protests on campus and how Hartzell handled it.  I disagree with the those faculty actions if true.  Hartzell is one of the best president's UT's had imo.
