What’s the pitch…….come play for a .500 team with a coach who was almost fired this year? We’ve had one D line player drafted each of the last 3 years (2nd,3rd,5th rounders). But hey we’re close to home and we got a big NIL deal for you.

If Texas doesn't change their philosophy for NIL $$$ allocated to DT recruiting, they will continue to struggle to attract DTs for years to come and will miss their championship window.  Good DTs are expensive even at the HS level.  More expensive to find them from the portal.  Kenny Baker seems like he will be a home run hire, but he's not a miracle worker.  Gotta capitalize on this window and not leave meat on the bone. 

This is why we haven’t landed a 5 star DT.

Just adding for the discussion....right now Florida is offering crazy amounts of NIL. Like I said earlier they're going to have to walk the walk with their talking the talk.

Man I really hate LSU.  What an absolute garbage team that is lucky to make a bowl game.    Gave Aggy and Florida fake momentum for beating them.

I'm a broken record ... if Florida, Miami and FSU (Ced Baxter) just let some of their top prospects walk out of the home state and go to Texas, Ohio State, etc... they should be fired. 

The battles must be had by Texas to win big in the Sunshine State, Peach State, etc...

I love that Texas is dragging their nuts across Florida and the southeast just stealing the prettiest girls and bringing them to Austin.  Not going to win all these battles but will win our fair share.

This was a cannot lose recruit - our IDL is the group that needs to stop taking hits.

At this point, if Texas doesn't feel good about where this is going - it may be time to completely open up the check book and tell Justus Terry to name his price. He'd be a day 1 contributor.

@Gerry Hamilton if Texas loses Charles, does that mean: Texas tries to flip lower-tier DT recruits like Chace Sims, they try to money-whip elite recruits like Justus Terry, Lance Jackson is more likely to move inside, or Sark cuts his recruiting losses and goes even harder for interior DL in the portal?

I think they can afford, they just have an interim president currently and I believe they want to get that figured out first. I think once that’s figured out they will be in the market for a new athletic director and football coach
